It's the absolute perfect size for different sauces, side dishes, veggies, and I recently used it for chocolate dipping some pretzels. It made a great taco soup for lunch. It is a great size to feed my family of four and have left overs. It cooks evenly and thoroughly. Then we keep the setting on warm until needed. I love that you can take the inside stoneware out for easily cleaning and travel if you don't need to heat it at the destination.
