I bought and returned this crock pot twice. The first one was completely dented when I pulled it out of the box. The second one I used once and then noticed a small dent in the side and decided to return it because I knew it wouldn't last the years. I had no problems with it working or the knob melting, although it did smell like burning plastic when I first turned it on. Being 7 quarts, it's also a very big crock pot, and I wasn't making large enough recipes so I exchanged this for a 5.5qt.

This is going back. The outside surface gets sooooo hot that I burned myself. This is a horrible item and the company needs to fix this problem.

I am almost relieved that the crock has a crack, so I have a good excuse to toss this model and get a new one. It has cooked WAY too hot from day 1.

Replaced my 20 year old crockpot with the bigger more modern looking one and I have already learned that it wasn't a great idea. In checking on my dish I touched the side of the crockpot and was burned! The exterior should not get so hot as to cause injury. I am shocked that there is no insulation. My old crockpot got warm but didn't sizzle when water touched it. Dangerous.

I purchased this product because of the Crock Pot name. I have never had problems with Crock Pot. The one I previously owned actually belonged to my grandmother and we had it for many, many years before it finally stopped working. I purchased this particular one because of its size. This worked great for about 6 months and then it just stopped working. I thought maybe it was a defect in the crock pot itself so I purchased another one just like it. This time, it lasted for just over a year and never heated after turning it on. When I contacted the company, they said there was nothing they could do unless I had the receipt. Who keeps the receipt after a year? Very disappointed in the Crock Pot name.

I purchased this crock pot at a store out-0f-town shortly before Christmas. I used it several times. The first time it worked great. The second time, it cooked several hours and then liquid started dripping from the top down the sides. I thought maybe I had not positioned the lid securely enough, so I put the food in a skillet and cooked it until it was done. The next time, I made sure the lid was quite secure, and I watched it for quite a while. All want well until the last couple of hours and the same thing happened again. I have determined something is faulty, as I have used Rival crock pots since they first came out and had no problems. I have a friend who was with me when I purchased the crock pot and can verify that I have used it very little with problems. I do not have my receipt, but would appreciate a credit toward another crock pot. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I am not happy with the lid on this. It does not seal tight. Have to use foil over to hold in the heat.

Okay two things... Not even close to enough insulation in sidewalls of heating pot shell and a cord so short it's impossible to use it safely, in my opinion.

I RECIEVED THIS AS A CHRISTMAS GIFT AND SHORTLY AFTER WHILE IT WAS ON, I HEARD A POP. THE STONEWARE BOWL CRACKED ALL THE WAY ACROSS ONE END. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

After a month and a half the ceramic insert cracked while in used. I was hoping to find a new insert, but can find any. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
