This is a solid basic model. No frills, but does the job. My only complaint is how hot the outside gets. I would not feel comfortable leaving this on when I am not home.

Very nice crockpot just ger very hot on the outside but definitely worth the price easy to clean and very durable easy to use

Works great, but there's evidently no insulation because if you touch the outside of the crockpot (even on low) it can give you a first degree burns. Surprising to me.

Ok, I really love love LOVE cooking with my CrockPot (as much as my Le Crueset cookware). It makes great stews, sauces, chilis, soups etc. I had the original round 4 qt CrockPot that was awesome but a bit too small, so I knew what I was getting, both the good and the not so good.Let's start off with the not so good (which existed with EVERY low cost Rival CrockPot I ever owned):1. They refuse to add an one-off light which tells you that the unit is on. You need to relax on touching it or seeing that the knob is turned to hi or low. This caused a slight problem when I had a short in the outlet of the last unit...you'd think it was on, but the plug was loose and works need a jiggle. My fault, but a light world be nice to verify from a distance that the unit was"on"2. For some weird reason, they only put three legs on the base of this unit instead of four, so it could be a tiny bit tippy if you push down on the front. I don't plan on doing that, and since I'm the one using it, that's fine. Not a deal breaker.3. As with my last unit, the back of the cooker container(where the plug is) gets a bit hotter than the the sides and front, so after a few hours, I know that with thicker sauces and chilis, it will sorta stick to that area/sorta burn (not really burn badly, just a definite hot spot area, about an inch or so, that cooks hotter). I solve it by stirring every few hours or turning the pot, sorta like turning a mattress every few months. Wish it didn't do this, but no big deal to me.4. The outside of the unit (anywhere that's metal) gets REALLY hot. Do not touch it. The plastic handles stay cool. And don't wrap a towel or anything around it (for insulation ) or you will burn out the unit. Again, this is something I'm already aware of, I don't have kids and my cat has enough sense to not go hear it. So no it's fine for me. For those with small children etc, you may want to go with a pricier unit that is better insulated and stays chill on the outside.5. Although this unit has a low and high setting, I really can't tell the difference. After a few hours, whatever in cooking is still boiling around the sides at both settings. I'm assuming the low heats stuff up to the same temp, but cycles less frequently (stay off longer). I dunno. If I'm not home, I leave on low all day and it's ready when I get home. If I'm home, I start stuff on high and, after three hours, I then put on low until I'm ready to eat. I don't think I ever used the warm setting.Again, this is all stuff I was already aware of and willing to live with..... I know how to work with this unit. So the bottom line is that while I sorta wish they could fix some of the easier things (the light, the legs), I absolutely love the unit and the low cost. And this bigger size is perfect to make a meal that lasts for three days, the last day leftovers gets added to my Leftovers Soup™

This is larger than the crockpot I had before, so I can add more vegetables to my meat and stews. It's simple to use. Other reviewers have told you that it has basic controls. They've also told you it only has three legs so it might be a bit unsteady. Just set it, forget it, and stay away from it, and you'll be fine. That doesn't bother me as much as the shortness of the plug-in cord, which you've also read about. I either have to put in an inconvenient spot on the counter or plug it into an extension cord I keep looped and use electrical tape to secure it to the countertop edge so no one trips over it and sends everything crashing to the floor. That wouldn't be good. The shortness of the cord is why I didn't give it 5 stars. Otherwise, it's fine.

Great value. Solid slow cooker. As others have mentioned it doesn’t have an on/off light which isn’t ideal, but for $40 for a 7q I can’t complain. One of the best things I noticed is that the pot/insert itself doesn’t have that non stick lining that my much more expensive cuisine art slow cooker had - after a few uses the lining started scraping off and I assume was also getting into the food I was cooking as it came off over time. This one has a pot/insert that is much more similar to ceramic in terms of it being one solid piece without a nonstick lining - although it feels way too light to be ceramic, but so far the quality is similar in terms of staying intact. Way better than the pot-insert that came with my old $150 cuisine art.The one negative is that it gets extremely hot on the outside. If you have kids or pets that might touch it be VERY careful. Also make sure wherever it is being placed has nothing around it that might melt - I originally noticed the heat issue after I learned the hard way by having a package of baby carrots beside it while I prepared my pot roast. The plastic was completely melted through about ten minutes after the unit was turned on. Once you are aware of it you can take care to avoid any heat related issues, but I think it’s worth mentioning!

I like the slow cooker from Crock - Pot, but not as well as the Cooks brand I had several years ago. The reason? The Crock-Pot brand is not able to be programmed for more than one setting at a time. With the Cooks brand, I could start the cooker on "high" for however long I liked, then it would switch to "low" for however long I set that temperature. The Crock-pot brand has also made the food stick a couple of times (but it didn't burn), and I don't remember it ever sticking with the Cooks brand. Unfortunately, I don't think the Cooks brand is available any more.

This was purchased as a shower gift but, crock pots are the way to go especially with newlyweds. I know they will really enjoy using it to save time.

It gets hot to the touch, but it's easy to use and the food tastes amazing!

Only complaint is that the outside gets a little hot when cooking and if anything spills over it's hard to get off unless you get it right away or you scratch the crock pot. Love it and have had it a couple years now.
