We had this coffee maker for 15 months and today we got an error code E1 that I can’t clear. Google research said the code has something to do with the internal workings of the coffee maker. This is frustrating, I was diligent about cleaning/descaling. The button features on the maker were wonky and hard to work as well. Programming was not intuitive.

Bought this because the 3 year warranty was appealing, but it did not last a year in normal residential use. Cleaned it regularly, and maintained it with care. Unit threw an E1 error. Braun Support was hard to reach, long hold times, etc. Opened case Wednesday Septmber 27th, 2023, and was told send in receipt and someone would be in touch for repair or replacement. I sent the receipt to the support email as directed the same day. Here we are October 5th, 2023, and I have no repsonse, no replacement, nothing. Stay away from Braun, and its owner Delonghi.

When I read the bad reviews I thought the complaints about the machine being difficult/impossible to program were simply a result of not reading the manual correctly. I have always trusted the Braun name and have many of their small appliances so went ahead and bought it. Boy was I wrong!! The owners manual provided with the machine is different than the one online and neither of them give correct directions re: how to program the auto brew function. After trial and error we have found a sequence of button pressing that sometimes activates the auto brew function. I say sometimes because there is a glitch and pressing the same button for the same amount of time does not always have the same effect. In addition, even when programmed for the hot plate to stay warm for 2 hours, it shuts off once it is done brewing. It is VERY clear that Braun is not what it used to be and I STRONGLY advise not to buy this machine- you will be frustrated and waste time on something as simple as brewing coffee.

This is the worst coffee maker ever! Not user friendly, complicated instructions. The touch screen does not work half the time, you have to touch it just right. The relay in the coffee pot clicks, loud constantly. How can a coffee pot be so noisy. This maker is the worst. Buy something else, save yourself the trouble.

I bought the braun bk5350bk coffee maker and it stopped working after 3 months. fist i received an E1 error. Unplugged for 24 ours and still it doesn't work. I am trying t descale and and it jut shuts off.

I bought this 4 months ago and find it terrible for a Braun. I had to extend my counter to be able to use it and put the coffee & water in. Instructions were crazy in Chinglish and not clear for a grandpa. I still have my old white Braun and will go back and use it. I still have not set the clock! the instructions are impossible to figure out. I need to find a woman who can understand the instructions. Mine does not respond to my fingers!

Fragile carafe that cannot be easily replace. That is it. Done buying coffee makers once/twice a year. Going to splurge on a BUNN coffee maker because if it is good enough for businesses and has replacement parts readily available it will work for us.
