Keeps pets warm

Our cat always seeks the warmest place she can find for a nap. That's often upstairs in an empty room. Now she's happy to nap on the couch next to me.

Our cats absolutely love these. We had to get two so each cat could have their own. They use them daily.

I could not rate this item on "warmth" since I don't use it for me - it's for my kitties. I have bought several of these mats through the years and all the kitties I've ever had LOVE 'EM. My kitties have a tendency to nap where ever they want - not necessarily where I want so I put these mats down on chairs, sofas, benches where ever I know they will eventually nap and when we have visitors it is no big deal to pick them up and the kitty hair is on the mat and not the furniture. These are easy to vacuum to remove kitty hair and toss in the washer and dry on low and you have clean mats in nothing flat. I just wish these came is different sizes since I have some small round stools that I have to constantly arrange the mat since the kitties can pull them off but otherwise I would recommend them to everyone with a kitty. I'm sure they would work for dogs but I have kitties. I have even given these as gifts to my friends kitties. If you kitties are not as spoiled as mine they might even share but since I always have at least three kitties at the same time I have to have enough to go around. Hope you enjoy them as much as our home enjoys them.

Since buying this mat, I had to do some unexpected travel with a cat I'd only had for a few months, which is not ideal. Having something warm and soft that was easy to pack and already smelled like her helped. My cat doesn't like most beds, but she took to this immediately. In addition to giving her somewhere warm to sleep, I like pulling a wand toy under the mat, it's the fastest way to get her interested in playing, and the mat has held up to her pouncing and claws. The mat is definitely effective at warming - I don't like heat, and I once sat on it for a while without thinking, and became uncomfortably warm. It will never burn someone, but don't use it in a carrier or anywhere the animal can't get away, because they could overheat. I'm not a fan of the animal print, but I'm glad I bought it. It's been reassuring to know my cat always has somewhere warm to retreat to in drafty homes.

I bought two of these to connect together for my 2 chihuahuas who sleep on our king size bed with us. No matter how much room on the bed they get to have, they were consistently plastered against me all night wrapped in their blanket. The first few nights they were sleeping on this I had to place their old blankie over this one, but then they got used to it with their familiar smells transferring to it from use. Now they sleep on it most of the night, comfy and warm. It really must keep them warm instead of me. They don't even want to be covered up anymore. Aahh, I get some better sleep now.

My cat loves this mat! He lays on it a lot and stretches out on it and seems to really enjoy it. he has an older kitty who might have arthritis and I think this helps him.
