NO remote access

I just came off of a competitor's unit, and have to say, this one DOES NOT compare to the one I use to have. This has NO remote access. Otherwise, it is ok, and nothing more. Spend the extra buck and get a better one.

Junk

Lasted 7 months. Tech Support lasts 90 days. Limited warranty is 1 year. Was told to return, they would look at and then "send another" if broken. 2 to 3 weeks without internet. For Real.Went to Spectrum for 5 dollars a month got the 6e similar to a D-Link. Far better, greater range and power. Tech help 24/7. Goes bad they will come and replace FREE or I can take back and they will give me a NEW one. Spectrum hooked it up and checked my WIFI extenders to make sure they were working. I was ready to buy different extenders to get the d-link DIR-X5460-US router to work. Spectrum has extenders also. At $140 dollars it will 26 months to break even. I was told by one company don't expect a router to last over 30 months. Should be replaced every 3 to a max of 5 years.

D-Link doesn't back their products!

I had this product for five months and the Internet Wi-Fi quit covering as much area. I had my Internet provider come to check the Modem and the download speed. After resetting the modem, the router would not match the modem speeds, which were over 300. I called D-Link, the product is only covered for 90 days. I purchased an Asurion plan, at the time of purchase. I called them, and they will pay me back my purchase price for the router. I used to be a loyal D-Link fan, not anymore!

Uses insecure, depreciated TKIP encryption

I picked this up as a cheap AC router. Unfortunately, digging into the settings, I realized that this uses WPA2-TKIP, which has been depreciated since 2012. You cannot disable this or force clients to use AES instead. It is very easy to hack and I have no idea why D-Link offers a router in 2023 that has this as an encryption option.
