Just buy it it works great with frontier fios. The only thing you have to do is release your DHCP from your old router settings and immediately unplug it so it dosent grab a new lease and you're good to go.250mbps on 5g and 120 on 2g covers a 1500sqft house fine.

I use this as a second router and my ATT as primary. Have multiple WIFI's at our house

After using the stock firmware for a while: It functions but is missing a couple desired features (separating 2.4 and 5 wifi names, for instance). Seems very focused on being easy to use rather than power-user capable. Range and speed are pretty good AFAICT.BUT. OpenWRT was easy to install, it has plenty of RAM for tons of modules, and I now have everything I could ever dream of within easy reach. Which was the main reason this was even on my "to buy" list. So I'm super happy with it.

For almost 8 years, I had been using the same reliable D-Link DIR-880L router. However, when I upgraded my cable modem, the DIR-880L did not allow me to get the full speed provided by my ISP. Hence, I upgraded to the D-Link WiFi 6 Router AX5400. After receiving the new router, I downloaded the D-Link WiFi app onto my phone and scanned in the provided QR code. Everything seemed to go okay, but I did not get any internet connection after multiple attempts. Even when connecting my laptop through ethernet cable, I could not manually set up things in the configuration webpage. I called my ISP to reset the cable modem, but I still could not get internet connection between the cable modem and router. So, I hypothesized that the D-Link provided low profile (thin) ethernet cable might be faulty. I switched to a standard ethernet cable, and, that solved the whole connection issue! This is the fourth time that I have seen faulty ethernet (even brand new) cables from different suppliers through the years. So, if you have internet connection issues during setup, please try another ethernet cable! Anyway, the D-Link phone app is useful to configure separate 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz options; it seems easier to work with this app than the web-based configuration page. Now I get greatly improved speeds though out the house.

This is a nice router. I handles all the wifi I have in my house. Probably 15 wifi devices along with 8 directly cabled systems as well. The range is good. I can get signal everywhere in my 2800 sq.ft. house, single level. And I can get signal sitting just outside my house on my patio. If you currently use D-Link routers this is no different in interface. But this works quite well for all streaming types.

First of all I am not a tech. This D-link WiFi 6 router has sped everything up even non WiFi 6. I think it has to do with the data packet bundling thing. the 5400 blasts my whole four bedroom house with coverage all the way out to the front yard parking! I connected WiFi 6 pc to WiFi as it was just as fast or faster than my ethernet connection. The app is very easy to use installation is a snap. The D-Link software is free check the router you are looking at most have a fee involved. All I know is I had 40 Mbps connection that went to 48 to 50 Mbps connection till the isp throughtled the Mbps till the router was at a even 40 after complaining we were data hogs, but our consumption was the same as before ( the last six years ) but with less speed. Don't be afraid of a brand that is not as prolific as the others. I have not had a problem since installing mechanically or otherwise ( except for the isp snivelling ). I also recommend the D-link WiFi 6 range extender.

I have an all in one cable modem, where the dual ac wifi signal is weak even with external antennas. added this device and have quiet a few devices that use wifi6, and now have better range and faster download speeds. I do not have typical drywall walls, my home is older with sheet rock, and stone walls, no signal issues. only place where it is weak is way back in the yard, in the future if necessary I will add a mesh repeater near the back.

I have been using this router for the past 6 months and we have more than 20 devices at my home. For the 1st time in many years, I’m happy that my kids doesn’t complain about Wi-Fi drop off!!! Great device at an affordable price.
