I came across this product searching for ideas for our children for Christmas. We decided to give it a try even know the kids and ourselves have never heard of them before. Lets just say they were a big hit. The kids love them and take them everywhere.

These things are great. My son is a drummer and he takes them everywhere. He loves that he can make music on the go!

I bought as gift for my grandson he loved it!!

We decided to get this at the last minute, with some concerns, since our 9 year old son already has an app on his iPad that does something similar. Or so we thought. The hoverboard, the remote control car, the Legos....their appeal wore off quickly. But this? It's the first toy he turns to each day when we are taking a break from screens. And he plays on it for an hour or more. He loves it. I would definitely buy it again, and encourage others to buy!

These have been one of the best additions to my classroom. My students love using it to make music. It brings a new light to my science lessons.

This is one of the coolest tech toys/gadgets I've seen in a long time! I'd heard the buzz about them during the Consumer Electronics Show, so I was really excited to try them out myself. I'm not sure who has more fun using colors to create music--the kids or me! I didn't really believe that you really could make the rings work on anything but the play pad, but we've tried them on just about everything in the house and it works every time. The app is really easy to use too, and my kids love creating different songs/beat mixes. It has been fun to see them trying new things and experimenting with both sounds and colors at the same time. They often pull the rings out and let their friends try it--and it's always a hit. If you are looking for a fun toy (for you and/or the kids), I'd recommend giving the Specdrums rings a try--we've been extremely entertained by them!

As soon as my 12 year old daughter opened the Specdrum box, she got right to work, reading directions and charging the rings. Wasting no time once they were charged, she started making music. At first she used the colored pad that was included in our 2 ring set to create sounds but eventually moved to the fruit bowl on the kitchen counter. It wasn’t until the next day that her 8 year old brother finally got his turn. He loved creating music and was so proud of the song he recorded and played for the rest of the family. This is such a great product that engages the entire family.

I like that the product comes with a play pad, as it creates an immediate color palette. That being said, it was fun to play the green on the packaging and the blue on my jeans! My family is NOT musically gifted, but this product makes music fun and approachable.
