My 11 year old daughter saved her money and purchased this. She loves it. She uses the keyboard sometimes, but, usually she likes to find the tone of music that everything around her will play. My 8 year old daughter also loves this... when my 11 year old will share!

I returned this for one reason. It was too much fun to limit to a finger. So I purchased two Specdrums! Problem solved as I mindlessly tap away to whatever is playing for music.

She unboxed it with a Bitcoin of hesitation ... “what the heck does it do?” But, within 2 minutes, she and her friend were making music together and they didn’t want to stop. Super intuitive unboxing experience. Could begin play right away (good for impatient kiddos)! So much fun.

Recently purchased this for my 11 Year old son. We had no issues connecting this to a Moto-Z or Iphone X. Essentially just plug the rings to charge. There was not a Wall Transformer Charger included, however there is a nifty Micro USB splitter / adapter cord that will take advantage of one single Micro USB Plug to charge both rings simultaneously. Admittedly, we were too excited to wait for the rings to charge and started right up for a test run. Had the two rings playing sounds in a few minutes with no issues. We simply paired each ring separately and let the full configuration of each ring process/update. No Issues navigating the application at all. The initial sounds were basic, but in no time flat, we were generating a series looping rhythm sequences, bass riffs, and synth stabs!! Additionally, I must note, these rings could essentially use the same Bluetooth connection to trigger an application that will accept "midi" which was a brilliant plan of Spheros part. The rings will differentiate a maximum of approximately twelve distinct colors reliably via the App, however being color blind, I was able to keep the music moving with no complications, After the Rings are fully charged, we saw about 2 - 2 1/2 Hours of play time which was perfect.

These are amazing and my 6 year old loves making beats!

Grand-daughter age 5 years, now 8.5 years, has loved this little ‘musical instrument’ and really gets into the synthesized sounds and rhythms. Between age 3 and 3.5 years, our other grand-daughter realized what her older sister was doing and wanted to have her own set. So we bought another set. It’s hard to provide a better review than to be a repeat customer under circumstances such as these. (Plus, the grandpa really likes them as well.)

My 10 yr old absolutely loved these. I got them for him for XMAS at about 30% off the normal price. All throughout the morning he was tapping on anything with color from the orange juice for mimosas to the wrapping paper to the plates for breakfast. Knowing he can customize the beats and create his own art to maximize his play adds another layer. I don’t see him getting bored with these anytime soon. Curious how Sphero can update the app and device overtime to continue to expand the possibilities.

These little guys pack a punch!!! The whole family loves this little set!!! It works off of an app you download to your phone, tablet or computer!!! You can all download differnt instruments and sounds to make it more interesting!!! They work by recognizing color, so they will work on just about anything, which really makes for fun!!! This is one present that the whole family will enjoy, regardless of age or music genre preference!!! This has it covered!!!

Christmas gift for child. He is too young to understand how to do all the sound mixing. But he loves coding and he loves music. This has allowed him to experiment with making his own music in a familiar technical way. It works best when using the color pad provided. Looking forward to seeing the additional sounds Sphero adds to the library. Younger users benefit from the library.

Amazing little thing! This is truly one if the coolest things I've ever seen! We got it for our son for Christmas, but I honestly play with it just as much! Totally considering getting another one!
