It gave me a little more freedom not having to be plugged into a wall. This pump was very easy to use and had minimal parts to clean which was really nice. I found the Medela family app slightly overwhelming. I’d rather have an app more focused on pumping. This app allows you to track everything from diapers to weight which is helpful in the newborn stage, but not really as necessary later on. My favorite features of this pump were that it was lightweight, the battery lasted for a full day of pumping at work and that there were only a few pieces to clean.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Medela Swing Maxi is a great, portable breast pump that is perfect for traveling and on the go. Between my two kids, I have about three years of experience using all types of pumps, so my review can be trusted. With the Swing Maxi, you don't have to be plugged into a wall throughout your entire pumping session. The pump has a rechargeable battery that will last through multiple pumps, so you can take the pump wherever you need to without worrying about bringing the charger along. The compact design makes it so easy to take places, instead of having to lug around a huge pump. I loved the fact that this came with two different sized flanges because I was able to get a great fit. Cleaning all the parts was really simple. One thing I didn't like was how the actual pump doesn't have a timer on it. Thankfully the app has all the information you need including the time of how long you've been pumping, but I guess I'm just really used to being able to look at the pump for that information. Overall, this is a great pump and it is perfect for when you need a breast pump on the go. My LO has been in and out of the hospital due to a heart defect and this pump hasn’t left my side. Super efficient and quick and so easy to keep clean! I had previously used another closed pump system that I liked but was excited to try something new. I was really impressed by how efficient this pump is at expressing milk! I get so much (granted I produce a lot) but I feel like it helped me to express much more quickly and efficiently. I also love how easy it is to clean and how quiet it is. I would definitely recommend in conjunction with the Medela pumping bra for a great hands free solution!

So to get started it came with a small backpack, pictured, and all the instructions, which included an app. The app has resources which I think is great for new parents, resources, and more information about Medela. The backpack has an area for an ice pack, extra bottles, the swing pump, and any extras you may need. Now to the Swing Maxi! I love it!!! Medela has done a great job making a pump that’s lightweight, easy to use, and has the ability to clip or “swing” anywhere without getting in the way. I was able to use the Medela strapless bra to hold it in place while working on the computer. I was also able to do chores around the house with the Swing Maxi clipped to my pants. The noise is very subtle so much so that it didn’t interrupt anyone’s concentration or conversations. There were stands that came with it so the bottles could stay upright while at my desks. If I could change anything it would be an extra cord that is longer just because it was a bit short but fine for desk work or a drive (passenger side of course). The bra was a great concept. It fit so well and was actually really comfortable. It would be nice to have a flap that could easily be moved from the nipple area but if you’re using pads it’s not a must. The other thing it takes so work attach the pump to the bra to start pumping. Maybe having removable straps. The hook did help keep the bra still but having to place and remove the pump from the bottle with the bra in the way was hard to manage in a jam. You can’t just slip it under/over the bra. Other than that I love using the Medela Swing Maxi with the strapless bra.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this pump! Like all moms, I have a ton of things going on and hate to be trapped in a chair pumping. While wearing this pump I was able to fold laundry, do dishes, and I even changed my baby’s diaper! I normally use a hands free and tubing free pump but I actually found myself gravitating toward this pump more. The flanges stayed in place better as I moved and the pump was small enough to stick in the back of my yoga pants. It was great! My 3 month old has enough head control that I could carry her while the pump was on. I think if you still had to support your baby’s head it would be a bit trickier to pick them up with the bottles attached. I’m a novice when it comes to pumping but I had no difficulties with this pump. Cleaning and assembly was easy. All the parts easily clicked into place. And, I didn’t feel like milk was stuck in any parts. The only negative thing I can say about this pump is that you can not control the suction for each side individually. So if you want to use different suction settings per side, you have to pump each side separately. You can do this by connecting the tubing from the unused side back into the system. Not a deal breaker for me but something to note. Though I have not traveled with this pump (grr covid), I think it is going to be very handy when we do. It is far less cumbersome than some of the other pumps. Plus, it has a USB charger so I can bring a remote charging pack with me to recharge it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love how small and portable this pump is! With having 6 kids, this pump makes it a breeze. I get about the same amount of milk in the same amount of time as my plug in pumps which is amazing compared to other portable pumps I’ve tried in the past. This one also doesn’t feel like I’m just pumping to never be empty. I feel empty after each session which helps me with production of course. I liked using a pumping bra versus a nursing bra for support with this one. The Medela pumping bra is my go to. The backpack it comes with is the perfect size as well. It makes it so easy to use on the go or travel with. Also included is 21 and 24 size flanges to try and get the right fit. They were very comfortable with the oval shape compared to others I’ve tried with a more rounded shape. There is an app this pump Bluetooth pairs with that is super easy to navigate through. It shows you suction level (there are 9 different levels) and how long you’ve been pumping to keep track. Thank you Stellar Product Testing Panel for the opportunity to try this great pump!

I am grateful to have a pump like this that allows me to move around and pump as efficiently as possible. The suction is gentle and non-irritating, which is nice. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this pump as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I already use and love a Medela pump, so I was very excited to try this one! It was very quick to charge and easy to assemble (one of the main things I love about Medela pumps!) with few parts. It made pumping so much easier to do in the go. I recently traveled to Mexico for a friends wedding, and this pump was so lightweight to carry in my carryon bag! It is small enough that I was able to mostly hide and pump on the plane. It isn’t loud- but not silent either. My husband said he couldn’t hear it on the plane at all! It held its charge to pump 2 times during the trip- both ways! I loved the freedom this pump allowed, though I’m not sure it was as effective as my main pump. I don’t typically pump to completely empty, therefore this works well for me! Overall I love this pump. It’s easy to use while traveling (car, plane, airport, etc). I’ll definitely be using it until my pumping journey ends!

It's been super helpful to follow around after my toddler while pumping without any limitations. The pump is super easy to clean, all pieces come apart easily. The pump is very quiet, I can pump while on the phone without any fear the other person can hear me.
