My youngest is 2 months old and we are always on the go as a family which means that pumping is absolutely essential at times. I received this pump as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel at just the right time. Bottom line: I am a BIG fan of this pump. I am often pumping in the car so it is absolutely essential that the pump is small and efficient. I am an overproducer at baseline and this pump effectively empties my breasts in an efficient manner. I am one happy and freer mommy with the help of this pump!

The Medela Swing Maxi did not disappoint! I love the freedom to pump and still care for my kids, do chores and even cook dinner. The pump itself fits in the palm of my hand, is fairly quiet, easy to use and efficiently empties my breasts. The breast shields are surprisingly comfortable and I love that there are fewer parts than other pumps I've used making it so easy to clean! I love that it is small, portable, and could be used for several sessions before needing to be recharged. The Swing Maxi is very compact but powerful. The backpack it comes with is great to bring on the go and neatly packs everything and the pump is easy to set up and use. It has a little cooler compartment that may fit about 4 Medela bottles. Because the Swing Maxi is compact, there is no indicator of how long you've been pumping or the suction level so you will need to download their app to track your time and data or use your phone. The pump is quiet, however, still not discreet as connectors are still big. This is a still a great option for working moms, or if you'll be out all day.

It brought so much ease to pumping, it was very easy to use and I love how there is different pumping speeds too which mad either fast and easy !! If you find it hard to get even 5 minutes to sit down and pump this is the breast pump for you. I loved that it comes with its very own backpack that is awesome. This pump comes with 2 separate flange sizes so you can get a good comfortable fit. The Medela Swing Maxi mad it so easy to move around my house pumping without having to be tied down next to a plug in. As a working mom with an infant and a toddler, I am running around a lot and have little time to sit down and pump. This pump has been great to help me pump while on the go. I absolutely love how lightweight the pump is, and that I can pump 6 times before needing to recharge the pump. When using this pump for about 20 minutes, I produced almost as much milk as I did with my non-portable pump. The pump is very easy to use, and has 9 adjustable levels, so it was simple to find the perfect suction level. It also came with 21mm and 24mm flanges, so I didn't have to buy any extras in alternate sizes to fit me. The parts are super easy to clean, and I really like how the Bluetooth enabled app tracks how much I pumped. However, it is a little noisier than I wish it was. Also, you pretty much have to have a pumping bra to use this effectively. I did try using it with a nursing bra, but did not pump as much milk as I did when using the pumping bra.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was impressed with the thoughtfulness of the design of the swing maxi. I’ve used a variety of competitor pumps in the past, both wired and wireless, but this is my first Medela pump. One thing I appreciate is that this is a closed system pump, so there is backflow prevention that keeps milk away from the pump and keeps things clean. That was the primary reason I had not previously chosen Medela with my first kiddo. Size is great, it’s about the size of a really large cookie and I appreciate how portable it is. There’s a loop at the top presumably to carry it, or clip it somewhere. I kind of wish there was a carabiner to clip to a belt loop but that’s an easy thing to add. The cooler backpack was a nice bonus. It’s super compact and has a nice separate insulated pocket for milk storage after pumping. Just the right size, and very minimal. Not a giant sized bag to lug around. The flange design was very slick. I’m used to the solid hard plastic flanges and have previously purchased silicone inserts to improve fit and comfort. This flange design combines the best of both worlds with less parts to wash. Pumping sessions are pretty comfortable and output is good, maybe slightly more than my other pumps. One downside is that there is no screen on the pump itself to see settings and pump time. That requires the use of the app to see that information, although the app isn’t needed to use the pump. I do appreciate that you can pump while charging. So if your pump dies, you’re not stuck painfully waiting for it to charge. The parts are fairly easy to wash, and I appreciate the backflow preventer and valve are combined into one piece. The fewer pieces to wash is always a plus in my book! Overall I believe this is a great pump, and a lot of thought went into the design features. I do wish there was some sort of screen so I could see how long I have been pumping without the app, but that’s a small inconvenience. I usually am looking at my phone when pumping anyway. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely loved this pump. As a working mom of two, I am frequently on the go. I was able to pump while driving to and from work, while at work, and even while walking on my treadmill! The Medela pumping bra was very supportive, and I loved the fact that the breast shields are oval shaped. I found that this pump did a much better job emptying me than some other pumps I have tried. I even threw on an oversized sweatshirt and pumped while running into the store for a quick errand! The pump charges very quickly, so even when I’ve forgotten to charge it, I don’t have to wait long. The stimulation mode is also very effective at triggering my letdowns. I didn’t get the opportunity to interact much with the Medela Family app, because with my daughter being over six months old, my supply is pretty regulated. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This pump came at the perfect time. I was about to go on vacation and this pump was perfect. It is so compact and lightweight. I really like the bag that came with the pump as it has pockets so you can put each item in its own spot. The straps are adjustable. The pump is so lightweight, you will think the backpack is empty. Initially, the suction did not work as well. I did not express as much as normal but I think it was also that this pump feels so different when you pump. After about a week, I was back up to my normal amount. The suction on this pump feels so different than the pump I was using regularly. It does not hurt like my previous pump. It reminds me more of the sucking of my little one. The only thing I didn't really like about this pump is the short cord. Also be aware that it you sit at a table when you pump, it may pump itself right off jt. When you pump ar a higher level, it can get a little loud as well. This is an awesome pump. The holders for the collection bottle is genius and come in handy for finishing up pumping. The backpack is just wonderful. It definitely allowed an increase in mobility. The double breasted pump helped decrease the time to pump as I was using a single pump system before. The pump was so easy to setup and the system is so easy to use. The manual is very thorough and walks you through everything you would need to know to operate the pump. Cleaning was a breeze with this system as there aren’t a ton of extra pieces like some other pumps have. The best part is the application! It is so incredibly handy to track everything in a single app vs the multiple I was needing to use previously! It significantly decreased time in logging everything for our baby girl and will make it simple to go find any of that information later instead of having to comb through multiple applications.
