What a beautiful belt! Exquisitely packaged. Feels rich and the buckle feels well crafted and has a nice weight to it. Unfortunately for me it's just not working. put it on while running out the door to school. Unfastened a dozen times walking to class. Walking out of class it unfastened and I couldn't get it to re-fasten. for more than 3 or 4 steps. Ended up just hiking up my pants with one hand while walking back to the car. I got home, took it off and tried to figure out why it wasn't working. Seems like whenever I twist the belt even slightly the notches slip past the catch and it just slips away. I like it a lot, but it just doesn't work. Unfortunately I've tossed the box and all the packaging so can't return it. Guess it's headed for the thrift store. Maybe someone else will have better luck with it.

The belt itself is decent, but the buckle is terribly made. The latch it’s extremely hard to move and hurts / nearly cuts into My thumb when trying to adjust it while it is on.

The belt was easy to put on, but very difficult to get it to release. Do Not purchase this belt if you have a history of frequent diarrhea.

I have 4 of these belts and they all are excellent . For the money and a lot of money more these are a great great value. The only issue are the buckles. They are all hit and miss. Some of them open and release very simply , others are a nightmare. Unfortunately this tine I got one that is just a nightmare. I wish they all has sane mechanism so this did not happen. So buy, but be very careful about which buckle you choose

UPDATED REVIEW....Jean from customer service reached out to me and sent me a new belt. I'm having the same problems with the release mechanism that works when it wants to. I have 2 other belts with a identical mechanism and those are way easier thatln this brand.. will not purcjase from this vendor again even with the great customer service. Nice looking belt the release mechanism however was trash. Not sure if I got a defective one or it's just that bad. I had to cut my belt off of me after trying to release it for 5 minutes...

So the belt function of clicking into place works fine. I haven't had any issues with that part. The part that causes me to give this a bad review is way the buckle attaches to the back of the belt. It is this little flip open bracket with teeth. I am sure it is designed to be easily removed to allow you to change the length. But you do this very rarely. The belt isn't reversible so that isn't really the reason. But this bracket will pop open when you are not wearing it causing the buckle to fall off. You have to find it and reattach it. However this can damage the back of the belt causing you to need to cut it again slightly shortening it every few times this falls off. If they just made screws like 98% of belts have on the back this would be great. But a belt that he buckle randomly falls off isn't really an acceptable design.

Let me start by saying that I LOVED this belt for a few weeks. The ratchet feature was new to me and definitely seemed like the only kind of belt I would ever buy again. The ability to shift size was perfect. Unfortunately, after a month of use, like mentioned in the other negative reviews, this thing will just not stay locked. I'll pull it tight, it will lock, I'll take to steps and it unlocks again. I've been trying to make it tighter/looser figure in order to figure out a way to keep it fastened, however it just won''t work. I have to adjust and re-lock it at least 20 times a day. So this will be going in the trash and I'll try to find another ratchet style belt with a better mechanism. Unfortunate, as I liked everything about it to start.

Keep some scissors on you at all times and buy it a little bigger than you because the teeth on the buckle that grip into the leather belt rips the outer layer of leather away leaving you holding your pants up with your hands unless you like walking with your pants around your ankles lol…..so eventually you will cut enough of until you throw at least the belt away…

I really like how this belt holds tight with no slip, but the coating job on the buckle is as cheap as you can get. It scratched on day one. I hit something in a tight spot. You can tell from the photo the coating is poor quality. They should have used black metal. I wore it the first time on Thanksgiving and the seating was tight. I guess the label on the back explains alot; "MADE IN CHINA"

It says genuine leather in the title. It says leather on the tag. Buried in the fine print it says genuine leather encapsulated in fortifying polyurethane. ..."fortifying polyurethane". Huh? When I cut it down to size, I had a piece of belt left over. My wife was 3 feet away cooking dinner. I thought to myself, "self, let's test this out." And I held the scrap of belt in the flame. For those who don't know, this is the ultimate test of leather. Real leather burns. It smells of burnt leather. Fake leather melts. It smells of plastic. As you can see from this photo, this is fake leather, contrary to the sales pitch. The brown outside melted and I scraped the melted goo off with a knife. Maybe it has "genuine leather" inside the belt, but if you encapsulate it with plastic, it's a plastic belt.
