This is my third SpinScrub carpet cleaner. I've done many many carpet cleanings for myself and extended family over the years and consider myself to be somewhat of an authority on the topic. The designs Hoover has put out keep getting better and better. I like the fact that they put tie wraps around the hose fittings connected to the internal nipples. I use boiling hot water for maximum cleaning effect and the tie wraps around the hoses helps maintain the connection under the intense Heat. So far the vacuum has tolerated the boiling hot water well. The waste receiving tank is very well designed. Much much easier to empty then the original Style. The Maine cleaners suction system that makes contact with the carpet is ingeniously thought out. At first I was skeptical by the loose fitting of it. However I found this way there is no need to press down on the cleaner with my foot 2 increase the suction contact with the floor. Upon a wet surface this floating suction head makes deeper contact with the floor surface then as if it were a fixed head system. Make sure your floor attachment cover as well as the rubber drain cover are completely sealed to get the maximum suction affect. I would definitely go with this model versus the Step Up deluxe model that allows you to switch the detergent on and off for rinsing mode or cleaning mode. If you want to rinse, just rinse out the tank and fill it with water instead of detergent. The other plus of this unit is that you can mix the detergent as strong as you want whereas the deluxe model might have limits as to how much detergent it mixes.I've heard complaints that this unit is heavy. However I don't agree. I'm just a middle-aged average weekend warrior and I find it easy to handle.

I seldom write reviews; only for those products that are wonderful or terrible. About half of my home floors are covered with carpet. I wanted to replace the carpet with wood, but couldn't because of echo issues. I had a carpet cleaner that was only OK minus so it was no big deal when it broke. I hated the carpet because if showed lots of spots. Clean them up and there were more the next day. I bought this Hoover cleaner and it has changed my life. It did a wonderful job of cleaning the carpet and the spots are gone. You may want to rinse the carpet with water only as this helps to remove cleaner residue. Rinsing produces more dirty water, but it's your decision has to the number of rinses. This thing has tremendous suction and the carpet dries quickly. This machine is very easy to use and fewer parts probably means less to go wrong. This is a wonderful product!

Does great job

This machine was a Hugh money-saver! I moved from a rental home into my own home and wanted both homes cleaned. I checked into hiring professional cleaners, but I did not think neither home was so dirty that I needed a pro. This carpet cleaner made my carpets look like new. The landlord thought I hired pro cleaners so even after the first use, the money I spent on this cleaner paid for itself. You can't go wrong with this one!

Easy to use carpet cleaner, i love it. In the past i have rented the commercial carpet cleaners and this Hoover actually was able to pick up the dirt the comercial cleaners left behind. Not only is this cleaner easy to use but its easy to asemble and easy to take apart for cleaning. For the price its a steal

Although I just got this machine and used on one carpet so far I am impressed. Ive been using a bissel machine for years gone thru 2 of them at over 200 bucks each so thought would try the hoover to tell the truth it took stains out of my rug the other was just running over amazed me really works great the suction I mean wow is way better then the other my carpet looks new. Now we need to see how long the machine lasts hope it goes for a long time.

I only have 3 rooms of carpet. Our house is about 5 years old and I had never cleaned carpets. Easy to put together, just a few large pieces. Easy to run. It works great!! You should see the gray water. Ugh. I ran it over and over until water was almost clear coming out. Hardly uses any cleaning product per gallon. Smells great now. I feel much better about the cleanliness of my bedrooms now. I've had for a few months. I've used it a couple different times now on each room and it's performed on all types of carpet. California shag to a thick plush carpet. Really performs well.
