The Shark HZ702 Ultralight PetPro Corded Stick Vacuum with Power Fins HairPro Odor Nuetralizer Technology vacuum does a great job at picking up hair and small debris. It would work great for pet homes with stairs.PROS:-Lightweight, easy to carry around for areas like stairs because the weight of the motor is closer to your hand.-Long cord (25'). -Bright light shows you the dust in corners you didn't notice before.-Narrow, low profile head makes it easy to use under and between furniture.-It does store upright, you just need to remove the hand vac portion and hang it from the front hook (see photo).-The clear canister makes it very evident if you accidentally vacuum up a coin, earring, or something small and hard- easy to see and hear it smacking around in there.CONS:-It is loud. I know someone is thinking "Big deal- all vacuums are loud"- but no, they are not. My old Miele sounds like a quiet kitten purring compared to this and it pulls up just as much dirt with a HEPA filter. Using a decibel meter, the Miele measures in around 76 decibels (at three feet away). The Shark PetPro Vacuum measures in at an average of 90 decibels loud, which is comparable to a leaf blower, and over the threshold for noise induced hearing loss. According to WebMD, any noise over 85 decibels can affect your hearing, temporarily or permanently. This vacuum is especially loud in enclosed areas like hallways and stairs where the sound bounces off the walls. It is different than a canister vacuum because the motor is closer to your ear. My ears were ringing after using it for 15 minutes and I will wear ear protection the next time I use it.-I can't seem to not knock the attachments off the side holder while using it, regardless of if they are positioned to the back or the sides, so they need to be unloaded somewhere before use.-Although I like the concept of a the "odor neutralizer technology" I should have read the description better because it isn't a neutralizing charcoal or anything neutral smelling, it actually has an air freshener included at the base that gives off a scent that gets stronger the longer the vacuum is used and heats up. Even on the lowest setting it felt a bit strong and chemical scented for my liking. I totally understand wanting to mask the hot pet hair in a vacuum scent, though, which is what this vacuum is targeted for, so it does have it's place. This vacuum functions well. It will be a good vacuum for downstairs at our house. I think pet owners will be happy to find it, though they might want to let their pets find a quiet, safe space in another room while using it.

Cleans good. I just have to empty the dust cup too often!

Cleans carpet like magic; hard floors, still have to sweep with a broom. It is top-heavy, can't stand on its own. Caution is required not to pull too tight the cord attached at top - seems up-side down, and could fray.

I've been using this vacuum for about a month. It picks up kitty litter very well from wood floors. I like the suction and it does well on rugs that are on my hardwood floors. It also does carpeting very well too. For a small lightweight vacuum it does a nice job. I have a problem though. I am missing one of the tiny wheels that lock in with a little metal bar. I don't know if it was missing when I got the vacuum, but it is definitely missing now. I have looked all over the house for it with no success. Could the manufacturer, please send me a replacement wheel? Also, can you clean the roller assembly or order another one when this becomes dirty and old?

Expected the beater brush not to revolve on hardwood floors, but it did. The beater brush got stuck on a very flat, no nap rug. Otherwise, suction is good and lightness is positive. Swivel head is difficult to control

I have owned this vacuum for over a year now. I was inclined to write a review to say that this is really a pretty great little vacuum. Especially for the money. I also own a cordless dyson. This vacuum is actually my favorite. If you can handle having a cord, which is very long, then it's actually a more convenient pick, mostly because it doesn't die. It has good suction, has lots of adapted ways of cleaning with it. easy canister removal and an option to switch agitator on and off for carpet to hardwood. The dyson is unreliable, so far this has been a vacuum well worth the price!

The top of vac is heavy and does not allow vac to stand up on its own, which is very inconvenient when trying to move it from one place to another and to stop and go to do other things without propping it up on wall etc. also the weight of top makes it difficult to maneuver. I do like the way vac practically moves forward on its own. Going forward to clean is very easy but bringing vac backward causes the front of vac to tip up. all in all I like the cleaning power but product needs to be tweaked a bit for above reasons.
