Buy this if you want something that won't work reliably.

I've had these for a while, and always groaned about unreliable connectivity and frequent dropouts. I finally decided to do a factory reset and start over after numerous automatic firmware updates made things worse. Well, the factory reset doesn't even work (there are Reddit conversations that confirm it) and they both bricked themselves into becoming completely non-functional. Good riddance. I ordered something else finally.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this, well, piece of crap!

I have passed the point with extended patience with this device. I will have to replace it.First, here is something I have never seen before and so bizarre with this device: Some of your devices connect just fine and for instance you can even stream your movie or news network. But then at the same time your kid start complaining about their connection to their online game with friends, they lost connection! Causes fights and yells of course because some devices connect but some in the middle of activity loses connection. Until you reboot! Of course, when you reboot all connections are gone, including the ones without any problems! Worse you have to do this all the time. Imagine the frustration you might have if you use the router also for work or even security. Your personal Ipad connects just fine but work computer cannot!Second, they advertised this device (mesh) as the one that when you walk inside your home and get closer to the other tower, then your device automatically switches to this closer tower. Nope! Never happens! Your device like your smart phone tries to stay connected to the one far away, struggles to keep the connection!Oh, the mobile app, I almost forgot to mention, another piece of "greatness." When you are in the situation above, if your phone or tablet with the Linksys mobile app you use to "manage" this thing, is one of the devices cannot connect at the time (while others connect just fine) you are doomed. You can't login to the app and see what is going on and potentially troubleshoot! You cannot see for instance which devices are connected, or nodes (towers) are in good shape, etc.More on the app. It keeps crashing... When it crashes, it goes to the Logout screen and enters in a loop. When this happens (yes it happens all the time) you have to kill the app and restart. If you have a "ton" of devices (one of the reasons people buy this product is probably to easily manage them) it will still be difficult to manage them because the app shows you the same device multiple times under different names, with potentially different IP addresses and even MAC addresses. This thing gets updates all the time, the firmware is up-to-date. Reboots happen too, at least for the reasons above. After years of ownership this is the point we have ended up with this LINKSYS MESH or I should say MESS !I might suggest a simple, but powerful "single" router (not a "Messh"), and then a separate router (WiFi) "extender." I am planning to do that and get rid of these over-promised, under-performing technology.
