I love this LumiNoodle ... it's extremely versatile and bright! Even though it leans more on the cooler end of the temp spectrum (more of a blue glow than yellow... I'm guessing it's at least 3000K), it has good even illumination, especially in a 2 person tent. It may be a bit too bright for some people, but I didn't mind it too much. It also packs away very easily and flat, which is a big plus when you have everything in one backpack. ***BUT be warned! This will *immediately* attract ALL the bugs. My suggestion if you have this light inside your tent: DO NOT turn this on until all the doors/flaps are closed well. And even after that, you'll hear all the bugs crashing into your tent wanting the glow of the LumiNoodle. If you use it outside, good luck.

This is very cool. In this pack, there is a rechargeable battery that doubles as an LED light - it's very bright and perfect for tent and camping. The rechargeable battery can be used to recharge other items, like your phone, etc. Also, I didn't understand when reading the product review about the magnets on the strip of lighting. There are five magnets along the strip and you can slide them up and down to stick the strip on metal objects. It's very cool! I can see how this would be great if you were working in an area and needed light. As long as there was something magnets would stick to, you're in business. You can turn the LED and the light strip on, slip into the bag and carry it like a lantern. I'm very happy with this purchase because it's versatile and each item can be used in more than one way. I'm taking it on camping trips.

I purchased the 5 ft. Luminoodle, it is the perfect size for carrying while hiking or riding your bike. The strip of light seems very durable and good quality. It's streamlined and compact. It comes with reusable ties to attach the noodle when you want to hang it. The ties are made of thick durable plastic and they look like the will handle being used in the outdoors well. The carrying case is made of a durable material and looks really nice. I can't wait to use it in my tent, it gives a nice glow light. I didn't read the description well so I was surprised that I had to provide a power source, but for the price and quality of the product, that was ok. I purchased a power pack that was small enough to fit in the bag so it wouldn't comprise the weight of the product. It would be nice if there was something already on the light that would just require a charge instead. Overall, I really like it and can't wait to take it on our next trip.

This provides a nice soft and diffused light in my tent. I used some other LED lights that worked very well, but were brighter and more directional. The Luminoodle fit in my gear loft in my tent and the 5 foot length was long enough to wrap around the ties for the gear loft. The color of light is slightly greenish, which others have complained about, but when you are out in the wilderness I don't think this would be a legitimate issue. The rubbery covering on the LED strip gave it a nice drape. The USB connector is not the regular metallic one that is square, but is a flat piece that makes it smaller, lighter (minimally) and able to be plugged in without regard to direction of the plug. It has enough friction to hold the plug in quite well. In fact trying to pull it out with only one hand was trickier than expected. The other lights I tried had switches, which made it easier to find in the dark as you did not have to plug it in to get light, but once settled in the tent and reading before bed, the Luminoodle gave a softer and dimmer light, but was plenty bright to see everything in the tent. If you place the battery and Luminoodle in the bag, it does give off enough light to use as a lantern to find the path at night. Great idea and works really well.

I bought this for a fun Father's Day gadget for my husband. Since then we have taken it camping and LOVED how it worked for that purpose! My husband is also looking forward to using it when working on his automotive projects. My 10 year old son loves it so much (riding around in the dark on his bike, etc.) that he got online and bought one for himself with his allowance. Because of the reviews on here I did buy the battery pack that goes with this just for the on and off switch. Like I said my son bought this luminoodle and has been using it with another USB battery pack we have, and it's a HUGE pain to plug and unplug when you don't want it lit. Having an on and off switch on your battery pack is a must. Another thing that's kind of ironic is that it says it's waterproof, but the battery pack isn't- so just keep that in mind too. I gave it 5 stars because its innovative and works for the purpose we will mainly use it for which is camping. LOVE it for camping! Great product!

Bought this for my Hennessey Hammock when I go camping and this weekend, I had a chance to really make it work and test it out. It performed perfectly! I bought a 10000 mAh battery bank and a USB switch (on/off) and plugged it all in together - seriously perfect. Just walking up to the hammock, flip the switch and boom, lighting for your entire hammock. Also helped scare off something wandering down the hill near my hammock one night (probably a Lynx or Black Bear). The green light in the photo is another light, but the white light inside is the product showed. Probably work just as well in a tent. Recommended for camping!

This light strip has a standard USB plug that can be attached to a compact power supply, like any of those rechargeable power packs for recharging phones. I used one the size of a cigarette lighter to power mine. Run time is limited to size of power supply and brightness used. It has about 8 brightness settings and comes with dual controls, 1 wireless remote and 1 controller built into the strip. This Loominoodle has 6 different colors to choose from, or it can be set to change colors automatically.

Awesome rope light to say the least. These lights were designed with a very thought out plan. It’s functional and versatile. They aren’t the brightest, flashiest, multicolor, or multimode changing lights. But what they are, are a set of flexible, dependable, and versatile lights. I haven’t bent them 180* backwards or anything, but I can wrap them around a pole, ball it up in the bag, and do it all over again without any issues. These lights illuminates just enough like a 10W incandescent light bulb, but running off of any 5v USB power. Meaning its a warm glow. It has ran off of a 20k mA battery pack for 3 nights without any problems and without drawing too much power. So this is perfect for my camping trips. I absolutely love this thing.

These lights provide a ton of light for nighttime camping. I strung them outside of our tent and they provided plenty of light for several hours, for two nights, without needing to be recharged. They may last longer, I just didn't need to use them another night. If you keep them rolled up in the bag, they work as a bright lantern. The bulbs are in a thick plastic tube so you don't have to worry about breaking them as easily as regular small bulbs would break. I've bought three of them because they work great.
