Great value for the price

I am pleasantly surprised by this robo-vac. I wasn't expecting much but I couldn't pass it up due to the sale I got. I did have a bit of a problem getting this on my Wi-Fi. My Wi-Fi has dual band 2.4Ghz/5Ghz. I know the vac only supports 2.4Ghz but I couldn't get it to connect to my network using my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. I worked around the issue by blacklisting my S22's MAC address on the 5Ghz net only. Had to do that because Samsung does not include a channel priority feature, even on their flagship phones and I didn't want to pay for an app to give that support. Anyhow that allowed me to pair the vac to my Wi-Fi.The suction is fine (better than I expected) and the coverage of its navigation is quite thorough (definitely better than I expected). I almost wish I paid a little more and got the Edge version of this as there are areas I don't want it to go. Its not a big deal as I can physically block when needed. Sometimes it seems to get confused in smaller, more confined areas but it usually finds its way.

Time saver

I got my Eufy G30 robot earlier this week. We named him Dirty Dan (DD). He has cleaned my floors 4 or 5 times now. The first time I put him to work, I followed him around for the most part just making sure he didnt get into any trouble. He found a dryer sheet under my bed that got tangled in the roller brush and he got stuck under my kicthen cabinet and dresser. Since then he has learned to avoid the places he gets stuck. I did have to empty the trash container halfway through his first clean (didnt realize how dirty my floors were 😐) and I had to clean the roller but now that he had been cleaning for a few days, my floors are a lot cleaner so there's not as much debri or hair and I havent had to clean them out until he is done. He fits well under my couches which I just love because those areas only get cleaned once every two weeks or so when Im the one doing the cleaning. I love that he is quiet enough to run at night while we sleep. I just make sure everything is up off the floor so he doesnt suck anything up. My 4.5 year old daughter is more cognizant of what she leaves laying around now because she doesnt want him to "get her stuff". I have area rugs throughout my house and he cleans those as well. I adore that I can walk barefoot in my house without feeling any grit on my feet. He doesnt take the place of the standard vac or broom when it is time to deep clean because he cant get under my end tables or my office desk but he does a great job keeping most other areas spotless. The amount of dust he gathers each time just amazes me! I was grateful for the additional filter that was included w him and will be buying more. I am a single mom who works full time and I also have a couple side hustles so I highly recommend this vac if you are busy and on a budget!

Still working well for us after almost three years - plus easy to replace parts

The media could not be loaded.  [Updated 6-7-2023] Almost at three years of constant use now and we finally had a significant failure--the pivot on the front roller-ball wheel broke off. As noted below, however, Eufy offers replacement parts for seemingly every part of this vacuum (you could pretty much build your own just out of spare parts) and shipped me a new wheel for $10 with free shipping. I ordered a replacement battery at the same time since our runtime had dropped to about 80 minutes. Installing the new wheel and battery took five minutes total, and the vac now rolls smoothly again and has a runtime back up to 100-minutes plus. One other update--it appears that Eufy updated the software to prevent the "light as obstacle" problem. I hadn't checked in months but noticed recently that the vac now moves through sunlit bright sections on the floor without any issue. Upgraded my review to five stars since this product has now far outperformed my initial expectations. [Updated 8-30-22] Two years of running two days a week and the G30 is still going strong. It's a bit noisier than it used to be, but it still returns home with a canister full of pet hair after every run. I've found that I haven't had to replace the consumable parts such as brushes and filters nearly as often as recommended--which honestly isn't that often. Vacuuming the filter after each run when emptying the canister seems to keep it working well beyond the suggested 200 hours even if it's not quite as efficient as it was when new.Eufy should also be commended for its attitude toward replacement parts. You can find everything from filters to wheels to motors for the G30 and other models on Eufy's site, along with videos for how to replace the parts yourself. As we all know, many manufacturers seem intent on making you replace an entire product when something simple breaks or wears out. It's good that Eufy is being more responsible to its customers. (I won't say "to the planet" since honestly, the best thing for the planet would be for all of us to go back to brooms and dust pans rather than robots.)[Updated 7-28] This is our first robovac, and thus far we're loving it. We have two cats and two dogs, and have spent every spring watching furry dust bunnies gather under the furniture and in the corners, even with regular cleaning. I had a chance to buy the G30 on sale as an early adopter, and having liked other Eufy/Anker products, I took the chance. We currently run it daily, and it comes back completely full of animal hair every time--which is both gratifying and a little eye-opening as we clearly had no idea how much fur was really floating around the house. It's thin enough to get under most of our bigger furniture, it's quite quiet (though we pause it if it's cleaning near us when we're watching TV), and it's been able to get over the thresholds between our rooms even though they're right at the stated height limit. I expect this is in part because they have a rather smooth ramp to the top--if they were more squared off on the sides I'm not sure we'd have been so lucky. As for the quirks:1) Like others, we initially had some issues with the side brush sometimes getting caught on our area rugs, causing the vac to reverse direction. Two things corrected the problem for us. First, I discovered I had not been inserting the side brush quite firmly enough--it required a bit more pressure to fully seat into place, which raises it just a bit higher off the floor. Second, our rug pads were very close to the edge of the rugs. I trimmed the pads by a couple inches and then curled the rug edges downward, toward the floor to make the edges sit more squarely on the hardwood. That solved the getting-caught problem for us, so it might be worth a try if you encounter the same issue.2) It can be blinded by strong sunlight. (See the video.) We found that it would sometimes approach places in our kitchen where morning sun was hitting the floor, and it would treat the sunlit squares as physical obstacles. Eufy support suspected this was because the drop sensors on the sides of the vac were blinded by the glare. Small pieces of tape over the sensors did help, but we instead decided to simply run the vac at night. (I'd also commend Eufy's tech support for being very quick to respond and helpful.)3) Our hundred-year-old house has antique furnace grates with relatively large holes (maybe 3/4-inch at largest). These holes seem to be large enough that the drop sensors occasionally get spooked and cause the vac to skirt the grates--not a big deal, but it does slow down the cleaning process a bit.4) The orientation of the charging base to your floor plan seems to have an impact on cleaning efficiency, at least in our case. I had originally placed the base on an angled wall in a bump-out, which caused the vac to start cleaning at a diagonal to the walls. I didn't see any particular issue with this, but after about a week, I moved the base to a nearby but slightly more hidden location on a wall square to the floor plan. Before the move, the vac averaged about 532 sq feet of cleaning per session as reported by the app. After the move, it's averaging 672 sq feet of cleaning and seems less likely to get confused in the odd corners of the house. So experimenting with base location may be worthwhile to optimize the vac's efficiency. All in all, a good purchase, particularly on sale.

Great for the price, but waiting a month for a replacement

I purchased this unit to replace a Roomba e6. Summary review - it is far superior. Many of the negative comments are true, but are in comparison to a $600+ Roomba. If you want all those features, reliability, intelligence, etc., then pay $600+. This review is in comparison to a Roomba e6. I paid $300 for the e6 years ago, and paid <$250 for this unit, on sale.Compared to Roomba e6 :- Far better coverage. It maps as it goes, so it tries to cover as much as possible without repeating. It can do most of 1300 sq ft house in a pass. The e6 could barely cover one room with it's brain-dead bouncing around. It does not memorize the map for use in the next pass (unlike a top-end model). It will sometimes miss a room, but next pass it might get that room but miss something else. Not ideal, but far superior to price-equivalent bounce-around model.- Doesn't get stuckThe e6 could not make it through a pass without getting stuck several times. I'd have to spend so much time rescuing it or blocking & unblocking areas with pillows, etc., that it took less time to use a vacuum. This thing is fire-and-forget. It has a low profile so it easily fits under furniture the e6 would get stuck under.- PriceHella functionality for < $300.- Easy to cleanHopper and brush are easy to remove, empty, and clean. I recommend gently cleaning the dust filter with a kitchen spray nozzle and allow it to dry. This is not mentioned in the manual, but that filter gets really dirty and needs more than just banging it out. Do it after every use.- Quiet. With the e6 running, we could not watch TV in a separate room, even with the door closed, because it was so noisy and would fruitlessly bang itself against our bedroom door. I don't watch TV (except sports) in the same room as this unit, but it is not disruptive through a closed door. It is running while I am typing this and it is not at all distracting, unlike the e6 that sounds like a jet landing in my house.- Good suctionPicks up way more than the e6. The hopper needs to be emptied after every use. Neither the e6 nor my Dyson pick up that much.- No problem with tile/carpetIt has no problem transitioning from tile to carpet or rug or bath mat. Other people have reported a problem. I think this depends on your particular floor/rug/mat/layout.- OK with cat litterWe have a litter box mat that grabs most of the litter as the cat steps out. It won't pick that up. But it will get other stray bits of litter.- Wifi setup hinkyIt was not as simple as 1-2-3. I'm tech savvy so I figured it out on my own (can't remember how). Others have reported this problem. Call tech support for help. Echo other reviews - they really need to make this process simpler so non-tech savvy person can plug-and-play this thing.- Unknown reliabilityI don't know how reliable it will be, as I've only had it a few weeks and run it about a dozen times. I almost never get extended warranties, they are usually a rip off, but I got one for this because of warnings that it only lasts about a year. It's about $35, so if it dies inside 3 years I'll get another.- App functionalityThere are complaints that you can't do some things with the app like tell it to skip a room or whatever. I don't use any of that, for this or the e6, so I don't know and don't care. I don't want to tell it to do anything, certainly not mid-cleaning. I just want to start it and let it run.- Finds it's way homeThe e6 navigates as well as a drunk sailor. Almost never found it's way home so I'd have to go hunting around to find it, on hands and knees looking under all the furniture, and every nook of the house. Waste of my time. This unit has gotten lost only once.- Wife likes itNuff said. The main reason I got this was so that it could go under furniture, not get stuck, and get better coverage than the e6, for ~$300. It does all that. If you want more, cough up $600. Highly recommend.EDIT 13Oct2022 - The first unit worked well for months before developing a rattling type noise, widely reported by others. Eufy was quick to send a replacement, after I posted the old one. I got it within days. That one had the rattling noise out of the box. I went back and forth with their support/engineers; they were diligently trying to find a cause and cure, and I was impressed. Eventually they told me to return it, and they would send a new one after a posted the old one. I waited the requisite 10 days for the replacement to arrive, it didn't, I contacted support again and they told me woops, it didn't get shipped cuz of a problem at our end, we'll ship it now and send you a tracking number. Wait wait wait, nothing. Email them again, woops it still hasn't shipped, we'll ship it soon. I've now been waiting a month for a replacement.I was so impressed at first with the product and customer service, they easily earned five stars. This fiasco has dropped it to two stars. I told them to express it to me NOW; if it gets here tomorrow I'll raise this up to 4*, but don't count on it.Update : eufy did expedite the unit to me, and all is well now. I hope they fix whatever problem they have in their warehouse, cuz they otherwise have a great product and support.

I was skeptical. I have to say I did not believe robot vacuums worked. But this little friend has changed my life. I told my kids I will no longer pray for them. I will only pray for my vacuum. Just push the little button and she goes to work sucking up all of my pet hair (3 dogs). It rolls right over the rugs like a boss. Somehow she knows not to fall down the stairs and then (like magic) she puts herself to bed when she is done. Really though, it has a strong suction and truly does pick up the majority of the dog hair. I turn it on when I leave for work in the morning and the floors are clean by lunch. I have to pick up the kitchen chairs before I go because she will get stuck under them but once you figure out the places she will get stuck then you can plan for it. She's quiet, like a sneaky cat. Roams the house cleaning and just flaunting her awesomeness. I don't use the app. I am not techy and I don't want to put that much time into it. If I don't have time to vacuum every day how do I have the time to figure that crap out? But she just roams the house and picks stuff anyway. Cannot say enough wonderful things about my little Eufy vacuum.

I cannot believe how well this works! Pet hair has been such an issue trying to sweep and vacuum but on just the first attempt, while trying to figure out our home, we had to pause it multiple times to clean it out. Works better than our Dyson quick vac. Unbelievable on hard wood and rugs. Do not hesitate to think twice. I just bought two more today for our large basement. Just wow!

It performs too well for what is advertised and we consider this is the best purchase of 2022: strong suction, cleans in an organized manner, performs quietly, and most importantly, it returns exactly to the charging base which I tucked away in a small corner between the two dumbbells (don't need the 3ft clearance). I schedules to run at 4:00 am every morning before I go exercise and it does not disturb my sleep, surprisingly, especially with a strong suction, it is very very quiet. We still mop the house and this little G30 pick up extra dirt and things from crevices we would not have found. We will also buy the extra accessories and batteries later this year to keep this thing around for the next 3-5 years--seems very well built, so the parts that should fail or worn out first will likely be the rubber strip, filter, and batteries. Eufy stills selling accessories for their older robovac line like the 11S in 2018 so I am not surprised if Dufy will still provide accessories for this in 2026. Of note, we bought the first G30 on May 7, 22 (with discount, got it for $189 without tax) to use in the garage exercise room downstair. My family living upstair liked it too much that we just bought a second G30 on May 12 for upstair; they sold the old bObsweep robovac that sounds as loud as a tractor and bumping into everything.

We own 3 different vacuum's. A Miele, a Dyson, and this Robovac. The Miele is the best of the bunch, but its annoying to roll out every single time you need it so we only use it for serious cleaning. The Dyson is our daily vacuum. It is amazing to have around with a 1 year old around the house. The Robovac is great to have in the basement. It is a solid in between clean up tool, but its would never replace a real vacuum in our house. It gets the job done and the gyro allowing it to go in straight lines is fantastic. I do bring it upstairs once in a while to get the stuff under the bed, but you have to spot check any areas it might get stuck on before you let it ride. It does require some babysitting and with the canister being so small its not going to clean a whole floor. Overall I am happy with the purchase, but Robovacs aren't up to the level they need to be to replace a regular vac.
