Works to keep our dogs and grandkids away from the pool. Keeps the pool deck usable without worrying about them falling into the pool. I put it in my wood deck and it works just fine. Even without the whole rod being supported underneath. I didn’t buy the hole guide for installation because I felt it would be a waste of money for just one use. It comes with a cardboard spacer to align the holes but the problem is weather you’ll drill them straight and level. I tried but didn’t succeed. Looks good and works as intended but if you’re doing more than 1 set or want it to look professionally done, I’d recommend the hole guide they sell.

Absolutely works! Thanks to some very handy men, we were able to install this on our composite (Trex) deck using wood reinforcements underneath to make the depth deep enough for the pole holes. The plastic pieces (to go into the deck holes) are a little fragile as we've already had the top part of one break off, but we are taking it out and rolling it up daily for pool use, so that was kind of to be expected, and it doesn't change the safety of the fence. The latch is very hard to re-latch for small hands (me included!) so would be almost impossible for small children. We couldn't be happier with this purchase, and our kids and dog are safe from the pool!

This pool fence is truly DIY and installs rather quickly. We installed two gates and about 300 feet of fencing in about 5 hours total work time. Buy, borrow, rent, or steal a large hammer drill like a Bostitch Bulldog with a high-quality bit $35-$40, that made all the difference. I followed the instructions related to using the prescribed drill template tool especially with angled the corners and man it is tight and looks great. This product comes ready to install and has all the parts and instructions. High-quality materials used and it all appears to be durable for long life. One rule I saw on a video that is a good rule of thumb; don't drill all your holes first, just do two to three at a time and check your tightness. I fudged the cardboard hole guide template about an 1/8 in. to the tight side. It makes it a little harder to push in but I liked the fence really tight looking. That was my method. The most important thing is my 1 and a half-year-old is safe and it makes my pool area look clean and a lot bigger!

Use of an impact drill and 18 inch long 5/8 bit a must. Must be 18inches to fit into the drilling jig. DON'T BUY THE VERSION AMAZON OFFERS IT WILL NOT FIT THE JIG. TOO SHORT, MUST BE 18 INCHES.

I ordered 10 for 120 feet of fence, each box arrived together with a drill template and instructions. The instructions are clear and concise with diagrams and figures to ensure a proper installation. Each fence segment is sturdy and works well with multiple sections. The instructions show examples of shortening segments that are too long. RECOMMENDATIONS: I highly encourage (as many others have) to purchase or rent a high powered HAMMER DRILL, purchase multiple drill bits and possibly a mason nail. My project needed 5 drill bits and as the drill bit got stuck, I needed the mason nail to hammer through some tough spots in my concrete. Overall I had to drill 50 holes, took three trips to the hardware store, and two days of work. All well worth it for a great sturdy fence and for the safety of my kids!!

We just finished installing 3 sections of this DIY fence across the top end of our pool which was not fenced off originally from the house ( the rest of the pool was already securely fenced). It took 4 of us less than 2 hours. I read the instructions beforehand and assembled all the necessary tools. (Our initial order was missing the plastic sleeves and connector hooks on 2 of the sections. These were replaced in 2 days by Amazon. ) I also “rented “ the drill guide through Amazon. I highly recommend getting this tool. It made the actual drilling a breeze. We also rented from our local hardware store the electric hammer drill and bit for $40. Again, worth it! The fence looks great. Seems quite sturdy. And you can see through the mesh very easily so the view of the pool is not obscured. The piece of mind I feel now for our grandchildren when they visit is immeasurable. A couple small suggestions: 1) include a few extra sleeves and caps. These were very tight to pound in and we destroyed several in the attempt. 2) regarding pounding in the sleeves-including a separate steel spike to insert to pound on when trying to get the sleeves in might make this part of the installation go easier. Overall, very pleased with the look and quality of this product. And the video was hilarious! It actually helped inspire us to choose this particular fence product over the others.

This fence is fairly easy to install for the average handy man. With the correct tools and a bit of experience this fence will go up quickly. I installed the gate and 10 panels 120 feet. I did the work by myself woth no help and was able to have the entire fence done in about 6 hours. Don’t skip out on the drill guide. It is made well and made the install go very smooth. Don’t spend the money on the one Amazon sells contact the company and rent it from them. It’s a $148 refundable deposit once returned to the company. For the hammer drill if you need one I suggest going to harbor freight and getting theirs for $79. No need spending $200 on something that will most likely be used one time. Definitely got woth the 18” drill bit as it will fit the drill guide well and the extra height makes it better on the back. All in all I save a lot of money doing this myself. A little time and effort will ensure the finished product is exactly as the company describes.

I researched all the brands and Life Saver was by far the best reviewed and most affordable. I bought all mine from the Amazon Warehouse, saving $12 or so per section. I also bought a used drill guide from Warehouse too for $35 instead of $100. You definitely want the drill guide. I got a great SPS hammer drill from Harbor Freight. I had to drill 45 holes which took many hours, not because the drilling was slow, but because my pool deck isn't perfectly flat and with each hole I had to relevel the drill guide. In the end, all my poles are nice and straight and the end result looks better than a pro did it. It will easily pass inspection.

This fence is awesome!! Totally worth the money and DIY friendly!! You will absolutely need a rotary hammer drill — it will make everything easier and quicker!! We ordered the drill hole guide but didn’t end up using it because my husband is handy with his tools. But for sure needed the hole template. This fence is exactly what we needed to keep our kids safe. The height is perfect and cute, doesn’t mess up the aesthetic of the backyard too much. We I am so, so happy with this purchase!!

We have had our pool since 1995 and never had to have a fence around our pool that is in the country. This fence is my sanity! Our 2 yr. old grandson is a daredevil and this fence has let me sleep at night! If you have a pool and children/grandchildren, then you need this fence. It will also keep your older pets safe from falling in your pool. The latches are hard for me to open! I have let our 5 year old grandson try opening the latch and he can not. Peace of mind in SC.
