The board is thick and sturdy. The pieces are large. Easy to see and easy to handle. We’ve had this for a moth snd have enjoyed over a 100 games! It is the best gift I have ever received!

This chess set is gorgeous and sleek for its price. I would say its competes with sets in the range of $60 to $70. Everything about this chess set is well-crafted and I highly recommend it.

This chess set is great! It’s light weight and has convenient storage for the pieces. I would recommend a case cover for traveling to prevent dents or scratches since the main board is exposed on the outside, besides that is perfect!

Needless to say, just a perfect chess board, pieces feel great in the hand and on the board, neatly storable, and the extra queens and invitations for a giveaway and a facebook chess group are very nice and pleasant bonuses.

Bought this product for my 6 year old son who was so excited for Dad to teach him chess. We have had it two years now and he was heartbroken when he lost a piece. Went to the Chess Armory website and chatted with customer service who directed me to fill out a form and get a free replacement piece. So pleased! This set is wonderfully made and now complete once again! A keepsake for sure!

I love how smoothly the pieces move on the wood. The craftsmanship is really nice. The pieces each have there own slots to store away inside the board that stores away easily. U can definitely use it for travel but it is a little large to set up on a plane. It is also not magnetic so the pieces would fall. But perfect for home or if bringing it over to a friends home.

Nice chess set, standard size so probably a bit big for most travel. Looking forward to having an activity to engage with my 12 year old nephew.
