I bought this one because it has manual controls. The one with digital controls will fail long before the heating element does. I have another one of these, and old brand, 20+ years old that has the same rated output but has more fins and they are larger. in other words, more efficient. I would have gladly paid double for another like it, but all the "new" stuff is sized down.

The only way to turn this on is to reach down to where your wall outlet is and plug it in. To turn it off, you have to reach down to the wall outlet and pull the plug out of the wall while this thing is actively putting out heat. I don't know about you but, I do not shut my home appliances off by pulling the plug... that sounds DANGEROUS. Imagine turning your hair dryer off by pulling the plug while it's running. Imagine turning your microwave oven on and off by pulling the plug. What the heck? Buyers remorse here. Also, there is NO INFORMATION on the instruction booklet on how to contact this company, no phone number, no address...nothing. I had no idea this item was shipped from Canada. I just assumed this company was in the United States.

So disappointed! I loved this heater. Easy and quiet to use in my kitchen during the cold winter days (not nights). But after 5 months it just stopped working. I was going to get one for another room for next year but I have little forced air, thermostat heaters that have been working for years at half the price.
