perfect

boy do I love this tool. I have a pixie shag. about 2 to 3 inches long in front and 4 inches in the back bottom. 3/4 in air dryer is what I needed. went through a couple. this one's "bristles" manages my short fine hair very well. the heat is not too hot, where most are too hot. the airflow is great with hi and low settings. and the lever for the settings is easy to slide. some are too stiff. the air flow is an issue with all hot air brushes. with short fine hair you want the air flow to be gentle. otherwise it blows the short hair away from the brush you are trying to wrap it around. this one is just right.

So much nicer than my old curling iron!

Gentle on your hair and so easy to use on both damp and dry hair. Cuts curling time almost in half! My hair is short, on the thin side, and has a very slight wave. Getting lots of volume and not having to use a whole lot of hair spray. Just fix and go! What could be easier. Haven't used my curling iron since this unit arrived. Highly recommend! (Was unsure about such a purchase until my hair stylist used her brush and gave me a few pointers and I was completely sold on the unit!)

Gentle heat =less damage

I’ve been using this curling brush for a while and it’s really the only thing that doesn’t damage my hair. Gentle heat, silicone bristles, and a more powerful motor? I don’t mind paying $40 + for that. The results speak for themselves.

The one handed bandit

Okay, here's the story I'm an older person who broke her wrist then had to have surgery to remove the hardware... that's 6 weeks of pain... recovery of 6 months oh then the second surgery. What does that have to do with this item. You try drying your hair with one hand...go ahead I'll wait. This little tool made drying and styling so easy I was able to go out in public again. Great drying power, easy to use. A great find on Amazon

How it works may depend on the type of hair you have.

I have very soft, very straight thin hair so this appliance is not enough alone for me. I use it as the second in a series of three appliances. I start with a hair dryer, then this brush and end with a curling iron.

Old classic that is still worth having

I'll agree with many other reviewers that this particular hot air styling brush feels way too light and very flimsy and not with the $33 for it. I recall it being MUCH cheaper a number of years ago, however when one sees the Revlon one step hair dryer and brush, which is more of a large flatten oval shape and is dominating the big box stores, this particular simple round brush style is not as in demand, so I can understand that. I hated the Revlon one step and the oval shape. The bristled flattened so quickly with less than a month of use and decided to return to my old favorite, the hot air round brush. If you're anything like me, then holding a round brush in one hand and the hair dryer in the other is not your forte, I totally get that. My suggestions for best use of Hot Tools 1 1/2 inch air brush: - ensure your hair is actually mostly dry or already dry. I usually blow dry or air dry my hair. This tool doesn't actually dry the hair well unless your hair is really fine and thin - use smaller sections and you'll need to let the hot tool sit on the hair for a bit longer than you would a regular round brush if you have medium to thick hair. The air power isn't that forceful. - use a styling cream or spray to help with the hold This particular hot air brush works best for either a stacked bob or if your hair is just above the shoulders. Longer hair works just fine only if you just want to focus on curling the ends and best results if you have layers in. Overall, worth the purchase, it just took some time to figure out how to best to use if for my hair.

This is a game changer

When I was using a blow dryer and round brush to dry and style my hair, it was never smooth when I was finished. It took the next day for my hair to be smooth. With the Hot Air Styling Brush my hair is smooth when styling and it dries well and you can hold the tip of the brush and the brush itself to dry and curl. The brush is not hot, heavy or cumbersome.

Bristles Broke in a Month! UPDATE

The air brush was easy to use on my short pixie and gave me the volume I wanted. Much easier and faster than using a hair dryer, then curling iron. BUT some of the bristles broke off as I put the brush on my bathroom counter after using it today! I will have had the air brush for a month tomorrow, so I am calling Customer Service tomorrow to see if I can get a replacement brush head--and it better be free! UPDATE--I just called Customer Service and they said the air brush bristle breakage is covered under the warranty. They are sending a whole new unit--not just the brush head! I am pleasantly surprised to say the least, but will be careful from now on when handling the airbrush and laying it down/storing it since the bristles seem to be quite fragile.

Motor sounds cheap but works well

When I received this curling air brush and turned it on, the motor sounded really cheap. However, I happened to also purchase and InfinitiPro from Conair and its motor sounded the same. When I tried it out, I really liked it. I could see how someone could get it stuck in their hair as one review mentioned. When you do your curl... only go one direction, don't twirl back the other way. That didn't happen to me as I have fine and silky hair. The brush is pretty slick and the bristles are solid and not flexible. I loved how it dried the ends of my hair quickly and was so easy to use. I thought I'd like one with a longer barrel, but after using it, I see why they designed it like they did. I hope this one will last. Time will tell.

Great Hot Air Styling Wand

This is a great tool for us amateurs. I can never duplicate the professional’s technique of blower in one hand and hairbrush in the other. This device duplicates that result. My hair looks like I had a professional blowout each time I use it. First I blow dry my hair until it’s just slightly damp and then use this to add volume and curl to my hair style. It’s like a curling iron but it uses hot air instead of harsh heat. I love this thing and recommend it to any woman who wants to save money on hair styling.
