I love to kayak while listening to a book but it eats up my charge ... this device will be just the extra oomph I need

It charged up fine, but I’ll have to get a different short cord with a lightening connection to use it with my iPhone. My usual cords are too long to carry with me conveniently. I’ve been in the Apple lane too long to think of that.
