I would recommend this iron ONLY if you have thin hair (which I do). The other reviews are true, if you have thick hair this iron is too big to curl it (even though it gets smokin' hot! I've already burnt my scalp twice!). The iron is no thrills, but it's cheap, so it's a deal for the money. Thick hair types find a smaller curler, I would recommend a 1 1/2", which I had before I bought this one. I'll probably go back to that width once this one blows.

These curls are VERY loose. I knew they wouldn't be super tight, but I also wasn't expecting a very loose wave look insted of curls. I would probably go a size down if you want more defined curls.

It's an ok curling iron. I've used better curling irons before. I have to use it on a high heat just to curl my hair.

My curls just aren't as strong as I was expecting.

This curling iron seems a bit cheap but ultimately does what it's suppose to do.

Does not get as hot as it claims. I have very thick hair, and it does not curl like my other irons.

I bought this 8 months ago and need another one. I am the only one using it. This should have lasted much longer!!

I absolutely love my Hot Tools products but this particular curl iron style doesn't seem to get hot like my other ones and I have them all! It just doesn't curl or get hot so it takes me a while to get my hair done!

The barrel is a tad larger than I had hoped for, I was wanting a larger iron so I could make waves, but after spending forever with this iron, the curl/waves fall out by afternoon time. Usually these irons are amazing but I think my hair will need to be a little longer to achieve the style I'm desiring- even though its to my mid back. Bummed but my own fault. Great buy cost wise though.
