I had a magic bullet then separated and the wife took it. I loved the one we had so much I wanted a replacement but was on a budget because I had to replace so many items, so I took a shot on this refurbished unit to save myself $20. The base is perfect, the cups are perfect, the blade though.....doesn't seem to do the job the other unit did. The blades are a bit more flat than the original unit I had so I suspect the blades were swapped out with a generic brand. The original had two blades that were more flat near the base, and two blades that were close to 90 degrees, these are a lot more angled at a lower profile which doesn't give as good of a forceful vortex I suspect because I get quite a bit of small bits. Still the base is the original base and the motor is a solid workhorse. I guess I should have ponied up the extra $20 for the new unit and got the original blades because now I'm buying a replacement blade anyway.

These parts do NOT fit up all that well. For the price it is barely OK. Buyer be ware.

I have only used it a couple of times but I don't think it is going to last. The mechanism that turns the blades is plastic and is turning before and after it is fully engages. I'm sure it is only a matter of time before this strips out. Anyway, my first test was to put in ice cubes (about 2 thirds of the way full), added maybe a cup of water and it only crushed about half of the ice. Fine, so I need to go light on the ice... Then, I made a seafood salad with it. I put in a about a quarter of a small onion, some lemon juice, mayo, salt and pepper. I mixed those together pulsing it for a few seconds at a time hoping the onions wouldn't get mushy, but they came out mush anyway. Then I added about 1/4 cup of the "crab legs". Just a few seconds more and that was mush too. So I ended up mixing the mixture by hand into my hand chopped "crab". It was a little too onion-tasting for me, but edible. Lesson learned: Mix mayo, lemon and seasonings in Magic Bullet, then chop onions and "crab" separate. Next, I wanted to make a milkshake, so I put 5 small scoops of cookies and cream ice cream and squirted in some chocolate topping. I added milk and blended away. It was a little soupy, but that was my fault for adding too much milk. So for now I am happy. I can make milkshakes.
