FOR THE COST, this fire pit is fine. Although I had two issues. 1. The product description explicitly says: "The convenient log grate allows ashes to drop for larger, hotter wood fires." Direct quote!!! There is no grate. Further, it is not listed in the included parts list so I suspect it IS NOT INCLUDED, just a outright misrepresentation in the description!!! A fire grate would be great for the very reason described in the product description - it would aid in the effectiveness of the fire and probably make the fire pit last longer. But... it is not included. If you're buying this pit because it comes with "the convenient log grate" forget it!!!! 2. One of the nice features is the "handle" the bolts around the sides. I have grandchildren and this is an added safety feature the keeps them from getting too close. It doesn't get hot and is a barrier between the pit and persons around the pit. It's also great for moving the pit. Can even be moved while still hot. However, one of the bars that make up the handles was bent out of the box. Not so much it was unusable, but still... should not be damaged out of box. Also there are plastic corner pieces that tie the four handles together. They send you an extra in case one breaks in installation. Good thing because two of mine cracked when I was installing them. They are too light weight for their intended purpose but doesn't make the "handles" unusable. So... What do you expect for the price?? Looks nice. Works fine. But... see above!

the tile plates surrounding the pit crack and break easily.

I recently purchased this item. The box arrived intact, however one of the tiles was broken. I was hesitant to order as others had listed the same issue. I'm not able to return it as my son in law had completely assembled it before we realized it was broken.

Fireplace was nice. Tiles that came with it were a mess. Most had either chips or were broken. Returned the first one that came due to all the tiles being shattered. Tiles need to be of better constructed material.

We like the look of it, but the cheap metal components and plastic parts (yes...plastic on a fire pit) make it junk quality.

Metal mesh in cover did not last well and has big holes in it after only a few uses. The bottom also has a big hole and had to put in a steel plate so the wood wouldn't fall through. And one of the decorative tiles came with a chip in it. Still using it after we fixed part of the issues but would go for something sturdier next time.

the description states that it comes with a grate, it does NOT. even more concerning other reviews made the same comment some of them dating back 7 months. it appears that no one at amazon reads the reviews and takes corrective action. FYI grates can cost more than the fire pit

When I started to assemble this I quickly realized that the brackets on one of the legs were welded onto the wrong spots and do not line up with the screws, making it impossible to assemble. They will need to be cut off and rewelded in the correct spot. Neither bracket was even close. There is no where on the packaging with contact information should you run into a problem. The tiles are packed one right on top of the other, not even a sheet of paper for cushioning. How they are not all broken up I do not know.

Not very sturdy. Cheaply made

Was a Father’s Day gift and quite a few tiles are broken and all of the extra tiles are broken. My dad is refusing to let me send it back (says he’ll glue them back together). I’m so disappointed in this product!
