Great Customer Service

Good picture quality and wireless works great. Had a problem with original unit but Vicky with Auto-Vox customer support was amazing and so patient and responsive. Helped me troubleshoot and fix the problem. Great product but even better support. Buy with confidence!

Works well and seller is helpful when needed.

The mirror and camera work well. It was installed in a 2011 Honda Civic. The mirror was easy enough to install and run the cabling under the window's top edge and behind the rubber strip on the side pillar along the door frame and behind the glove box to the power outlet. The antenna is mounted in the trunk close to the back seat and the camera is mounted behind the plate with power coming from the taillights. There is a little bit of flashing of the screen when in reverse but it's usually pretty clear and steady. My only problem was not having the proper adapter to make a tight fit to between the mirror mount and the windshield. But, Kaya at AutoVox was helpful and had one shipped to me relatively quickly and since placing that adapter the mirror is very steady.

Best purchase ever!

I literally use it every single day, the installation was very simple & easy! It has made my older car so much more convenient! It truly helps me feel confident in parking in reverse, safe at night and I have never had an issue with it yet. Kaya from the support team was able to assist me with ensuring I have the latest model and she made me feel valued as a customer.

Great solution for easy install--and manufacturer stands by product

I have three of these Auto-Vox units. One was the older model with the strap on rear view mirror. All work great; however aesthetically the T1400 is superior. One T1400 monitor only lasted about 3 months, but Kaya in customer care was very responsive, a replacement monitor was shipped, and it works great. This setup was very helpful to my daughter as a new driver of an older vehicle. The install is very straight forward.I have nothing but praises for the product and the support provided by Kaya and the entire Auto-Vox team.

Perfect for 2010 F-150

Easy to install and wire up to the backup light. Just follow the instructions and make sure you connect the wire to the power wire, which in my truck was the faded purple solid wire. It varies among years so you will need a tester and for safety someone to hold the brakes when putting in reverse. There are only two wires to the backup bulb and without a tester, you have a 50/50 chance. I woudl have guessed wrong as I woudl have thought the solid wire any color would likely be a negative/ground wire, but in my truck the faded green/red wire was negative/ground. Total install was less than 30 minutes and works perfect for my needs. Today was a grocery day and I could see a little kid on the camera, that I could not see walking with their parents. Mirror fits nice and snug on my OEM 2010 bracket and does not wiggle, wobble or vibrate when driving down the highways. This is a great little set for those older F-150 trucks prior to the 2018 new mandated option. I wish I woudl have done this sooner and saved having to replace a rear bumper a couple hear ago from a pole that was not visible from just looking in the mirrors, and looking behind me. The only thing I wish I could do is adjust the marking lines. Otherwise, wireless transmitter and receiver is a great easy install instead fo running wires from the back to the front, zip tying...I'm too old for that stuff anymore.

Excellent camera and Customer Support

The camera video is clear and easy to view even at night with limited external lighting. I purchased a second camera after my original camera failed after 3 years and hoping this new one will last longer. I decided to purchase a replacement because I was very satisfied with the camera picture. Another key factor for purchasing replacement was because of the assistance of the company's Customer Support Team representative Kaya, who was so very helpful in getting me a discount even thou my warranty had expired. Kaya was really polite and professional in her communication and provided quick responses to e-mail messages. Auto-Vox really supports their products and I will definitely purchase products in the future.

Installs pretty easily and functions well with one easily remedied issue

I was originally given this backup system as a gift for my 2013 Toyota Prius, and it worked so well there I bought one for my wife's car, a 2009 Lexus ES 350. I'll start with my summary review for those of you who just want an overview and will follow that with some more in-depth comments about installation that some may find useful.SummaryI very much like this system from Auto-vox. It works very well and is relatively easy to install, with a few cautions. The 4.3" screen built into the rear view mirror has an excellent picture that comes on very quickly once reverse is selected. The camera can be tilted so that the guides correctly indicate when you are 2, 4 and 6 feet from an object behind your car. I especially like that the communication between the camera and the mirror is wireless, as this saves a lot of the effort that would be needed to run a wire the full length of the car to connect them. The one issue that I've encountered is that the light sensor in the mirror is too sensitive to bright light. As a result, when you use the system in full sun or even relatively bright light, it increases the brightness of the screen so much that the picture is washed out and not very useful. There is, however, a very simple solution for this problem. Apply some black electrical tape over the sensor, which is just to the left of the power button on the mirror. The picture on the screen now can be seen clearly under any conditions. If you don't want to put tape over the sensor, you can also, put a finger over the sensor to create the same effect. As other reviewers have noted, the mirror cannot be dimmed for night driving. I haven't found this to be a significant drawback, but if you're particularly sensitive to bright light, you might find a backup system with a separate screen a better choice.In-depth details1. Be prepared to remove quite a bit of trim in the back of your car to run and connect the wires for the camera and WiFi transmitter. If you're fairly mechanically inclined, this shouldn't be too hard to figure out, but it does take some patience determining where all of the bolts, screws and fasteners are that you will need to get everything apart. Also, if your car is older, some of the plastic fasteners may be brittle and break. I suggest releasing a small number of them, and, if they are, ordering some fresh replacement fasteners before starting the job.2. Take care to run and secure wires so they don't interfere with other functions of the car or are likely to become frayed over time. In the back, I ran the wires and then gathered the excess length and taped it securely either to the original wire harness or to the metal of the body. In the front, it was easy to run the wire from the mirror along the headliner to the passenger pillar, but I had to be careful to run the wire behind the curtain airbag so it wouldn't interfere with it in an accident. Similarly, I had to be careful to run the wire below the dash trim so that it wouldn't experience excessive heat from the heating vents or be snagged by a passenger's feet.3. It seems like every manufacturer uses different colors for the 12V and ground wires on the backup lights in the rear of the car. If you don't have the tools to test which is which, your mechanic can probably tell you.

Who can do without a rearview cam. If you ever had one you could not do without it anymore.

My Grand Daughter is attending college and needed a new small car that used minimum $ for gas and that meant no frills. the one frill she could not do without is a backup camera, so I checked for the best one on the market for a good price. I purchased the AUTO-VOX T1400 Upgrade Wireless Backup Camera &4.3" Rear View Mirror Monitor and installed it easily with no problems. It worked perfectly until her and her fiancé moved to their own apartment near Tulane about a year later. I asked the AUTO-VOX support team for help and Vicky lead me through the trouble shooting point by point and we got it fixed. It was the plug from the transmitter that was partially loosened from overloading the trunk. Thanks to Vicky my Grand Daughter said she is happy again.
