Dentist Advised Me to Drop Immediately

The app thing is kind of dumb but I figured it didn't hurt to try and get some rewards just for using a free app. However, it stopped working on my phone not long after I downloaded it because it stopped supporting my Android version. So that wasn't great. My main problem, however, is the replacement heads fall apart so fast. The rubber bristles around the edge break up well before the 90 day cycle. I'm not doing anything rough with it nor do I have jagged teeth or anything. They just break off with regular use. I just left a dentist appointment and asked for a toothbrush suggestion since I was probably going to drop quip soon. When I told them I was using Quip, everyone in the room kind of scoffed and the dentist advised I find something better. The vibration is so bad. My old phone vibrates with more intensity than this toothbrush. The timed pulse is the only reason I have stuck with it so long. That and forgetting to cancel each time I see the "shipped" email. Quip does some stuff alright but not the toothbrush. It's not good and definitely not worth the cost. It's barely better than a regular manual brush. And it falls apart too quickly. And the bluetooth part kind of absurd. Make sure to have the latest phone models or the app won't work.

Not Completely Worth It

Like another brush that I've tried from Quip, it's definitely a beautiful brush. It's nice to hold and is very sleek. But it's simply not worth the value for the purpose of dental hygiene. One, the vibration is very minimal and is primarily for timing purposes. If you don't care about a powerful vibration, then it won't be an issue. However, it also doesn't offer much of a difference from other brushes on other fronts. The brush head is basic, for example. And the battery-powered brush builds up a lot of mold and gunk under the brush head; I can't speak for the rechargeable model. But it makes me feel gross using the brush. Second, the "smart" feature is nice and all but the rewards system is useless. I liked keeping track of my brushing habits and seeing if I favored one area over another, but that's it. The points you accrue barely save you any money at the end of each year. You end up paying more for the smart feature than you save! I'd rather just save money and buy the regular version. I just didn't feel like it was worth the price of the brush or the replacements to keep using it.

Great Technology! but...

This toothbrush has a great app where you can track all of the details like intensity, routine, time, coverage, and much more! It also has a very nice design, being light and slim. But the only thing I don't like about it is the bristles, they are very stiff and when I used it for the first time my gum started to hurt because of it and also bleed a few times.

Question if buying Quip 4 convenience is worth it?

I like the Quip but have had a lot of trouble turning on with several different units. I’ve bought additional units because of that & have 4 subscriptions for grand children. I recently bought a smart unit, it worked great 3-4 days then stopped. I put motor in an older unit with a new AA battery & it’s working better. You reference a magnetic charger with no explanation how that works. Also it’s difficult pairing with I phone.

Not Impressed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, the Quip Smart-A Electric Toothbrush was a letdown. I did not feel as if my teeth and gums were any cleaner using this brush verses a manual brush. I have very sensitive gums and while this brush was gentle, I didn't feel that my gums were getting as clean as I'd hoped. I did think the app was fun. It didn't have an impact on my oral health schedule, but I think it would be great for younger kids that struggle with regular oral health. I thought the rewards were good. My daughters would definitely brush more often without a struggle if they were earning prizes. Setting up and getting started with the brush is super simple and fast. However, I was not impressed with the battery life. It needs to be charged often. I would not rely on this if i was traveling for this reason. For me, this product was a miss.

Brush heads don't stay on after a while

It's a good brush, but after a while, the brush heads stop staying in place and keep popping off while brushing. I've removed the head, cleaned out the debris, and left it apart to dry overnight, but there is still no improvement.

Works for 2 months then it’s a regular toothbrush

Put up with this toothbrush and its AA battery predecessor for 5 years. The headache of having to get it replaced a million times is not worth the trouble.

Doesn't Charge

It worked great, immediately after the 1 year warranty was past, the brush no longer charges and is a regular toothbrush. It's sleek and compact, but so are regular toothbrushes.

Brush is good but always falls over

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really wanted to like this toothbrush. The fact is I do like the toothbrush itself. It is smaller and narrower which is great for small mouths which I have and my son has. But the biggest design flaw is that I haven't found a way to make this thing standup when charging. They put some adhesive on it and say stick it to your wall. Ummm.. No I am not sticking anything to my wall. Not to mention the small bit of adhesive does nothing anyway. This toothbrush is constantly on my nerves as it falls over. My son has been using this and actually showed interest in brushing his own teeth with this brush. But it is always in the way, falling over and in general a hot mess. Please, please fix this design flaw because then I think the toothbrush itself would be great especially for smaller mouths. But I'm so irritated by the constant falling over that I just can't have this be a toothbrush in my house.

Sleek -- but not great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This toothbrush doesn't seem to work very well. It doesn't have a strong vibration and the charge doesn't last very long. It is really cute and a nice concept, but I really didn't like the fact that it only comes with a charger cord and you have to use a block from something else to charge it. I would not recommend.
