Get's hot fast!

This is a great buy for the money. It's gets hot fast and my curls stay all day. I would recommend this to anyone buying a curling tool on a budget.

Liking it, so far.

This is my first curling iron. So far, I'm satisfied. Have it in 1 inch diameter. It gives me just right bouncy curls. There's a risk of getting burned if you touch the metal plate by accident when it's hot, so caution is necessary when using it. Plus, one must follow instruction as to the length of time of use so as not to burn your hair. When I get used to curling, maybe I'll get another one for smaller curls, same brand.

Curls that last

The curls last! The heating iron heats up quickly. Even when I tie my hair in a loose bun and wake up the next morning my hair has a nice wave with natural looking curls at the end. I have been asked many times if my hair naturally curls.

good, not great

It does the job, but is is worth the price? Maybe I will see the value if I am still using it in ten years. My hairdresser recommended this brand. Bought to replace a ceramic iron, which left my hair straight. I have short, naturally wavy /curly hair which is 30% gray, neither thick nor thin, nor course or fine. I don't find that style lasts any longer than with the old iron, but I do seem to have less frizz. I am not sure if this is because the weather has begun to change here in Florida from hot and humid to warm and less humid, or if the iron itself is responsible. I use it on the hottest setting without incident, and curling goes very quickly.I hate that it does not shut off automatically, have left it on twice, and I have burn marks on the pad I use to lay it on to show for it. On/off button is small and easy to accidentally move, and indicator light is barely perceptible. If you buy, be sure to cover your vanity surface with heat-proof material. I am now attaching it to a surge protector with a brightly lit on/off switch which I can turn off after use.

Expected it to be hotter

Aesthetically, the curling iron is very nice. It's light and the cord doesn't get tangled. But even in the hottest setting, I feel like it's not hot enough. Maybe it's just that I have thick hair. If the iron was a little hotter I think it would be perfect. But I still like it, and with a little bit more time my hair comes out just as I want it.

Great Most of the Time

I keep ordering the Hot Tools curling iron because it's a fabulous tool when it works, but I've found it to be a bit temperamental. The first one worked fine, but the black plastic on the clip cracked and fell off, requiring a duct tape fix (until it melted and I had to order a new one). The second one worked fine until, after about nine or ten months of daily use, the thermostat stopped working properly. I had to crank it up to high (not great for my fine hair) to get it to heat at all. But (sigh), I've ordered another one because the design is great and when it works, it works. Let's hope the third time's the charm!

Long lasting curls

This is one of the best curling irons I have owned. Even and quick heat. My only caution would be that it doesn't pull through my hair as smoothly and easily as my ceramic curling iron but my curls do hold much better with this iron.

Love it!

This is a nice curling iron - light weight, but makes grat holding curls. I like the different heating temperatures, and the way it feels while curling my hair.

Great in every way, except the on/off switch

The barrel is smooth, the clamp holds my hair, the curling iron heats fast and holds its heat, the temperature gauge gives a great range for different hair types, the cord swivel is very smooth in movement, the metal fold-out table top rest works well and overall my hair looks and feels great with this new curling iron...BUT, the on/off switch is very loose, so it will slide into the off position while I'm fixing my hair and without knowing, so it causes huge delays before I realize the curling iron is off and I need to turn it back on and wait until it gets to temperature. It happens everyday, so it's a great curling iron in every way, except for the switch.
