The little screws that are supposed to attach the stay-open mechanism to the lid are just a tiny bit too wide, and they don't go through the holes drilled into the mechanism for attachment. But it's a beautiful box, and it keeps my gardening tools corralled, so I mostly love it. I took one star off for "Weatherproof", because it's really more weather-resistant, but it is exactly right for my needs. I wouldn't suggest storing anything that absolutely can't get wet in these, because there is a small amount of breathing room between the side slats. They are angled downward (away from the box), so it would take snow or some extreme rain, but moisture can definitely get in. I'm in a very dry area, so I don't anticipate that being a problem for me. All in all, it's a beautiful piece of furniture, serves its purpose, and only has one or two minor flaws in my opinion. I would consider buying another one if they got the whole screw thing figured out!

This was exactly what we wanted. Easy to assemble. Nice appearance and sturdy. Looks great in our sunroom. Would definitely buy again. It was delivered early.

Hinges put together backwards at factory led to challenging assembly. Doesn't close completely but we'll see if that comes with time.

I question the description's claim that it can hold up to 335 pounds. Just using my hand in the center of the top to push myself up from the floor when putting it together felt like it was going to push through and I'm no where near that heavy, although I will admit that I could stand to lose about 40 pounds, but I digress. Also, be careful if you're using a drill to assemble. I had it on high speed and one of the large screws went in so far that it split the wood a little. That's on me. Just a warning for future buyers. If you use the Allen wrench to assemble, you won't have a problem. It's a little tricky to put together by yourself. You have to line up 3 sets of 3 tiny screws for the top hinges. I set it on its side and that made it a little easier. It took me about 20 minutes alone, so it could be done in half that time with two people.

Decent quality product except shorted me hardware which I had to go out and buy. Serves my purpose. Use indoors so no idea about the weatherproofness.

Love the look of this storage bench. It is the perfect fit for my porch to store shoes and boots when not in use - some of the other options in storage benches are way too big for what I needed. It was easy to put together myself, about 30 min. It is not weatherproof which I knew when I ordered it and which didn't matter to me since I have it on a covered porch. I do think it was a bit pricey given the workmanship. There were 2 defects: #1 - the screw on 1 of the slats on the bottom piece was stripped out and I had to replace it. #2 - the inside of the front piece has a split in the upright support (see pic). I plan to reinforce this so the sturdiness is not compromised. The cardboard product box the bench was in when it arrived was not damaged, so this split happened before the item was packed. To be fair I did not contact the seller about the damage, so I didn't give them the opportunity to make it right. Honestly, returns and dealing with damaged items takes more time than it would for me to just fix the issues myself. I do like the bench and I would buy it again if I needed another....would be nice if it were priced a bit better.

The storage box was easy to put together, however as soon as I opened the lid for the first time, the wood came apart on the lid and I am now trying to glue it. Looks good, but smaller than I would have liked and expected.

I was excited to get this, because of the teak wood however it is thinner than expected and I hope it last; I will have to make a canvas cover because the salt water and air just damages everything. It’s pretty but frustration was my first thought, first it came cracked but I’m handy and fixed w wood glue and a clamp- easier than shipping back. Then second, what would of been a branch hole was right where the screw went; again hope it doesn’t cause weakness. Then third, the hinges don’t line up nor do the screws provided fit. I feel they are wimpy so just decided to leave off. I just wanted this to store outside furniture covers when using the furniture. Price was right but then that’s what you get...

Although this is a beautiful piece, the teak finish is lovely, however the craftsmanship is poor. The screws are all one size too big hence they do not screw in flush. The top of the piece was split apart on one corner when the shipping box was opened but the shipping box was not damaged. This leads me to think the damage existed before shipping.
