I like the design of this wall socket. Its innovative and it is very useful. It has 8 Ac outlets and they are placed in such a way that one won't hinder the other because they two in front and three on each side. This means you can use those bulky microUSB chargers and still not affect the other outlet. It also has three USB ports that provide power to charge iPhones and other USB powered devices. The most important feature is the surge protection which is indicated by green light. Though I would have liked if this light were a little brighter. I out a piece of opaque tape on it to decrease this light especially at night. The only suggestion I have is to make the platform for holding the phone a little bigger so that it accommodates some of the bigger phones as well. Other than that it is a great socket for a wall outlet and I would surely recommend it.

This was a Christmas gift which I gave—so can’t rate performance; however, looked good & item appears to be just as advertised—priced right

This is great for any room, I use in the kitchen to get the phones off the counter! Easy to install and sturdy! I need them on all outlets because the shelf itself is so handy to have .. great idea!

Love this design, so handy and there is always something being charged with the USB 3 outlet hub!! It also turned a two plug outlet into an 8 plug outlet!!! The little shelf on top is perfect to set your phone on, or any other small electronic device you need to charge via USB!! This is a Solid design and Quality made product that has been used from the moment we plugged it in over the kitchen counter!! Excellent price for something the whole family will use on a daily basis!! Love it!!! Ten Stars!!! Thank you!!!

This is a really fun addition to my camper, where space is at a premium. Pros: * Now it is more likely to know where my cell phone and its charging cord are, given the convenience of the shelf * Greatly multiplies the functionality of a standard wall receptacle, you go from 2 sockets to 8 outlets and 3 USB ports * Makes finding a wall charger redudant. * You can keep the cords in one place and label them (Micro, Mini USB etc) Issues to be aware of: * If your wall plate lacks a central screw insertion point, between the two receptacles, you may want to carefully drill one out for the attachment screw to grip into. It looked to me that on my standard camper / RV "speed cover" held onto the wall with two adjustable pawls, that there was a safe distance between the cover and the space behind it to insert the screw without it hitting the ground wire that occupies the central channel behind the cover. This is valuable to give this augmented wall outlet more "grip" onto the wall and make it less likely to partially pull out of the receptacle when you remove an a/c cord.

Perfect for those spots in your house that there are never enough chargers. When they built houses even 20 years ago they never imagined all the gadgets and gizmos we would have and just how many outlets we would need. In my house there is often a struggle and fight over the prime positioned outlets. Thankfully this is an instant fix with this Socket Shelf Wall Outlet Power Charger and the additional 8 3 prong outlets and 3 USB ports. I find the USB ports have been extra helpful since many products have stopped including wall adapters for rechargeable devices. It is pretty self explanatory to use. You plug it into your existing outlet and it covers the two plugs and replaces them. There is a screw that you can use to secure it in place, but I have opted not to use it allowing it to be more portable until I get more. The shelf slides on easily but can be used without it as well. It is sturdy and can hold 3 phones without any issues. It would not be useful if your outlets are upside down with the third prong being on the top. I love the additional surge protector and peace of mind it gives me. Phones and iPads are substantial investments and I like the added protection for them. For me this is the first of many. My son is currently using extension cords to plug in his gaming system, TV, cable box, charging system, etc. I feel like this is much safer than running extension cords and less of a fire hazard. I am also going to get one for camping with the generator. It would be nice to charge our phones while the generator is running. It is not very efficient to run the generator only to charge phones, but would be great to do it while you are using it for other things. With extra outlets and USB ports, everyone’s phone can be charging simultaneously while cooking (we primitive camp on an island so there are no car chargers or other power sources available). I also would like one for the barn to use with our power tools too. Overall it is very useful and can turn any outlet into a charging station in seconds. It is very sturdy and seems to be made of quality materials. I would recommend it highly.

I installed this nifty surge protector and USB charger in our kitchen to help keep the phones off the counter. We often use our phones in the kitchen to listen to podcasts, audio books and music while cooking or cleaning. This charger and surge protector not only gives us more plug capacity (an important feature) but adds critical surface area for the phone to safely rest. Pros: 1. Shelf on top which can switch from end to end depending on how the wall socket is oriented. 2. Easy install - remove the screw in the middle of the standard socket wall plate but leave the wall plate in place. Screw in the extra long screw in the middle of the socket/surge protector into the same hole. Remember, do NOT take off the wall plate because it is needed to stabilize the surge protector. Also, do NOT try to install without the center screw in place. 3. 8 AC plugs, including three on each side. The side ones are not as useful to us in the kitchen, but if I can see this helping a lot in tight spaces behind furniture and home entertainment centers. (Note: the unit is marked "15A" for its current capacity. This means TOTAL for the unit. Your wall socket is probably a 15A capacity fixture (some homes will have a few 20A, but that is the exception). Putting this 8 plug unit in does not give you 8 x 15A. You likely know this, but if you didn't please take care and do not plug in your instant pot pressure cooker, waffle iron, air fryer and coffee pot into this one unit and turn them all on at one time. Or even two of them. You'll trip the breaker or the protection circuit.) 4. 3 USB sockets. Can't have enough of those. Just remember the TOTAL capacity is 3.4A - it's not 3.4A each. If you plug in, for example, 6A of gadgets, it will be fine, but it will just take longer to charge all of them. 5. Indicator light letting you know if the wall socket ground is properly connected and if the unit protection circuit is working. This unit does not have a reset button, so my guess is that if a BIG surge hit, it just dies to protect your stuff. I'm OK with that. 6. Feels sturdy and the tray mounts are designed to keep the tray from easily slipping off because there is a retainer notch on the wall side. I didn't explain this well, but if you look at it closely when you get one, it shows some design thought. 7. Some devices with built in USB make a 60 cycle humming noise due to shoddy construction. This one is quiet - that is great! Overall, super happy with this clever, well built and versatile wall plug, surge protector plus charger.
