Would be better if it plugged into both outlets, to make it more stable.

Currently using this item in my son's room. I have a lamp, playstation, tv, sound bar, and tablet charger all hooked up and everything works fine. Item continues to work and have no issues with power. Does take up room for both outlets, however you get so many that is really doesnt matter (unless you have an item that has to be plugged into the outlet and not a substitute). The shelf is sturdy, haven't really used it for anything so far. Overall, would recommend.

Now i don't normally like to see if my circuit breaker is working by pluging 9 things into a two outlet switch. You wont even know if the surge protector works untill its to late. I mainly use it for the 3 usb ports, wish it had more. I have it in a 20amp outlet and as stated by other reviews there are no directions on the main page or in a booklet about the dumb screw going through the unit that you must remove if you are using a square outlet like i did, so please update the page.

This works great in the bathroom. I can have my toothbrushes, shavers, and echo dot all plugged in at the same time. The top shelf allows me to place the echo dot on it and out of the way of the countertop. The usb ports work at charging my iPhone which come in handy when I am getting ready in the morning and need my phone to be charging while in the bathroom. It never once fell out of the outlet, and has been working with no problems so far. I like it, and will pick up more for other rooms in the house.

This surge protector has eight power outlets and three USB ports for charging. The device without the shelf measures 5.5" tall x 3" wide x 1 11/16" deep (when plugged in, so not including the plugs in the measurement). The shelf is 7 7/8" wide x 3 5/8" out from the wall. The shelf can slide onto the top or bottom of the device so that the device can work with either end up. The shelf has a small ledge help keep smart phones and such in place while charging. The device comes with a screw through the center that can be removed (if you pop the ring on the other side off) or screwed into the screw hole of your wall plate to better hold the device in place. As I do not frequently pull logs from this device, I didn't feel the need to screw it in. Both the power plugs and the USB ports work fine.

This is a really great outlet if you're not in a hurry when charging your USB devices. It is a bit slower than of course direct plugging into a power adapter, but also not as speedy as plugging into a computer or other less "powerful" power source. That said, the number of outlets and the use of the sides for this is really good. Beyond that, the shelf is a nice to have as well. When I need to charge my fitbit, I use the USB port and sit the watch on top of the shelf. It keeps the watch from being lost in the shuffle on my desk and it just works really well. I appreciate this idea of having a shelf on top of the power outlets, I just wish the USB was a bit more high speed in charging. Despite my issue with the USB speed, I do recommend this because of the number of charging ports and the great shelf on top.

There comes a point, usually when you have a couple power strips full of adapters and cables all over the floor, that you start looking for a better solution. This wall-plug device has 8 outlets and three powered USB ports and makes for a nice tidy arrangement. The device tray is removable and only attaches to the top as shown so if your outlets are horizontal then you would have to install this sideways which would make the tray un-useful. USB power seems to work fine, not sure if it's negotiating current with the device or not. I have a USB charge tester on order and will update this if I learn more. It comes with a long center screw if you want to securely fasten it in place. There's an always-on green surge protection/power indicator light at the top front. It is not UL listed as far as I can tell. Seems solid and competent so far. Four stars for the moment.

This outlet power charger and surge protector is really handy for extending an outlet without having a surge protector and cord on the floor. It gives you 8 outlets and 3 USB ports, so there's plenty of room. The shelf looks like a good idea but depending on where you install this, the shelf isn't always convenient. For us, it was pretty unnecessary since the outlet was closer to the floor and not in a convenient place for a shelf. The shelf wasn't a dealbreaker for me, but I figured it was worth mentioning. It is easy to install, and it comes with a center screw that's the right length to keep it in place. It does require a duplex receptacle with a hole in the center to screw on a cover. The snap on cover style won't work with this, again something that should be mentioned just in case. For us, there were no issues and it works very well. I'd recommend it.
