This is the best yard tool I have ever bought but it just broke. What does warranty cover? It just broke

Worked every other time. Maybe you need to be stronger than me like grandpa..

the claws should be longer, and handle too

Works best when used for pulling weeds or small saplings (stuff with a sturdy tap-root to grab and pull). Takes multiple attempts to extract crabgrass and weeds with more tender, spreading root systems. If you are trying to weed through areas of flower beds mulched with pine needles or cypress mulch the job will be more difficult.

Depending on the type of weeds you're trying to pull out this may or may not work. Seems to slip off the root a lot and just strips the weed of it's leaves. It would work better if it had 3 prongs instead of 2 to grasp the weed on all sides.

I used my new gw-1 grampas weeder a lot and will continue to do so. we've had lots of rain so the ground was saturated and easy to work with. the only problem I see, is it doesn't get all the dandelion root. maybe 1 out of 25 complete root. u can hear theroot snap when u don't get the complete root and also see where it snaps off, with a very white cross section of the end of the root. not sure how u can fix that. i'm thinking the forks need to be several inches longer. a well established dandelion root is 6/8inches long or longer. if the ground is hard baked, u won't get maybe 2 inches of the root. everyone knows u leave a partial root and it will come back again and again. I dont' think there is a better tool on the market, but its way far from 100% dandelion root proof. works great on thistles, it pulled the whole root. for the price I recommend giving it a try.

It’s just ok. I wouldn’t buy it again, and if I have the time and energy, I’ll be returning it. You still have to bend a little and you have to pick the week out of the weeded to throw it away. It’s okay for single weeds here and there but if you have a lot, it’s a waste of time!

Didn’t always hang on to the weeds but overall a pretty solid product. Can’t give a 5 star because we had to reach down and pull out lots after this tool loosened the weeds without actually pulling them out.

It’s not meant for desert soil.

This is a great tool for pulling weeds! The metal is cast iron and very sturdy. However, the wood handle will break off eventually. To fix it, use a 3/4" drill bit to drill out the remains of the old handle. It might seem like the hole is very shallow, but if you keep drilling you'll see that it goes down to the bottom. Then find a 1/2" metal pipe from a hardware store and shove it in the hole. I found a 30" threaded steel pipe with plastic caps on both ends, and it works perfectly. At some point I may remove the plastic cap and weld it, but for now, it will do.
