This worked on some smaller weeds but not on larger ones. You have to get the device pretty much exactly centered over the root. Sometimes it will pull it out, sometimes it just gets out part of the root. I'm disappointed that it didn't make the weeding task significantly easier.

This is easy to use and does pull from the roots. I have even used it at work wearing high heels and a dress. However the weeds have to be a good size for it to be able to grab plus you have to center it just right but all in all it was still a good purchase

It kinda does the job, just not 100% all the time... depends on the weed your trying to pull... I feel it would have been better if the whole thing was metal, I fear the handle might break... it’s an ok tool for random spots...

Not that easy to use successfully

Very sturdy piece.

I've pulled a few thousand dandelions (and a few other weed types) with this tool, over a ~2-month period. Our soil is clay-rich and fairly dry. In our soil, this tool only completely removes Dandelions about 10% of the time. Usually the dandelion root will break about an inch below the surface. The tool works better when the soil is wet. Since our soil has so much clay, I have to manually clear the soil from the forks after I pull every weed. The tool seems to work better on other weeds that have less brittle roots. Still, it's far better than bending over! Regarding durability: the tool is starting to loosen from the wooden pole, and the screw holding the foot pedal to the metal body seems to be loosening.

It grabs as much dirt as it does plant, so you have to scrape the dirt out every 2-3 uses. It worked okay on tap-root weeds. It did not work on quick-spreading weeds with rhizomes. It also took me a couple of tries to master the maneuver. Overall, it was not the revolution I was hoping for.

Maybe this worked for grandpa but it only works on the larger weeds for me. They have to be big/have a thick enough stem in order to actually grab the weed, and it’s nice for those, works well. Smaller weeds that are clumped close together, though? - forget it.

It took 6 WEEKS to get here from CHINA (not WA, as the page details would have you believe). Once it finally arrived I had to get a hammer and a drill to put it together. Just feel like there's a bit of bait and switch going on. Even the markings on the wooden handle don't match the listing here.

The Grampa weeder is amazing with dandelions but no so much with weeds that do not have a low growing well formed center. I don’t mind pulling the weed from the device, but dirt packs into it slowing down the process. It is easy to use but unless you have an abundance of dandelions or like I don’t know if it will work for you.
