Brilliant, simple, easy to use design. Made of cheap metal and broke immediately.

I got this tool and took it for a test run pulling weeds in my yard. The weeds were coming up easy, I was thinking this tool would change my life, then I hit one difficult weed and it literally snapped the head in half. Under that pretty black paint is the cheapest pot metal I've ever seen in my life, and I've bought plenty of cheap tools in my time so I know garbage metal when I see it. I would have given this six stars if it had been made of quality material, as it is it got returned as soon as I could get it down to the shipping place.

Not thrilled.

Followed instructions on video. Ground was moist but weeds didn’t pull out like described. More effort is needed than described.

So-so

Handle is very short and doesn't work on all weeds. Also if the weeds are in a rocky flowerbed it doesn't work!

Not worth the effort!

Basically I did not see on how it can perform according to its advertisement of durability in getting the work done. I’ve used it in my yard and it did not follow through with just the basic and simple steps of it’s called for to do…it’s a product that I wasted my time and effort and money for.

Not easy to clean

Uses for pulling dandelions. It pulled ok but dirt stuck to tines and it caused more work to remove dirt that it was worth.

Only will handle small weeds or big weeds in loose dirt

The overall idea is great but the execution in ok at best. Let’s start with the head. The design is good but the teeth holding on to the weed just don’t grip well, the need to be directional and sharper. The foot that extends from the head is good. Next the connection between the wood handle and the head is terrible. The socket is about 1” deep and the flimsy little stick is about 1” in diameter. This is the weak point of the tool and after using it for just a few weeds you see how the handle really wants to just pop out of the head. The minimum depth of the socket should be at least 3” with a band at the top to keep the head from splitting over time and the handle needs to be at least 1/4” thicker in diameter and maybe a foot longer. I am 6’2” and leave in central TX with hard rocky soil. This design is really good but the execution just doesn’t add up to a TX tool. This tool is best suited for working on your knees in a garden with relatively good dirt and a 18” handle, but it still needs better teeth.

Made in China

For $40 bucks, why couldn't this be made in U.S.?

Enormously Impractical; Would Not Buy Again

Yeah, well. My knees are going, and so is my husband's back. I had hoped this might be a good solution, but if I had to make the decision again, I would not buy this product. It does look exactly like the picture, and I read and followed the directions. Will it pull up a weed? If the conditions are exactly right, yes; I'll get to that in a minute. Does it spare my knees? No. You have to bear down with your leg in order to get the weed up. I should have figured that out before I made the purchase. I'm a plus size woman, and I had hoped that my weight all by itself would force the digger down to the plant's root, but it actually hurts my knees a lot, which is why I've been pulling weeds bent at the waist. For a person with a fused knee joint or a prosthesis that is strong but won't bend, this might be useful, but then again, only in the right conditions. Here we go: * The soil must be fairly dry, because if the soil is heavy, the tool will get mud stuck in it and it won't grab anything. * The surface must be absolutely level. If you're in the Northern half of the West Coast, good luck with that. *If there's bark dust or any other kind of mulch, the tool will be too short to grab your weed. If you live somewhere flat, like much of the Midwest, this might be an okay tool. Or not. Another problem: it's slooow. If you are behind in your weeding, you can pull at least a dozen weeds in the time it takes to center this tool, step down, drop the weed in the bucket, the yard waste bag, or even a pile of weeds, and then move it back into the exact position over the next weed. Unfortunately, the physical challenges that will make a person want a long-handled digger also make us truly dread trying to haul something like this to the post office to return it, so we are pretty much stuck with it. Now we have to store it. Live and learn.

The claws need to have teeth like a pair of pliers to a better grip on the weed.

No grip on the weed.
