Though well made, this item is not effective or useful for pulling weeds. The ends are like two forks: there are two prongs with a gap between them . This gap prevents most weeds from being pulled, as they slip through the gap rather than get pinned between the forks. Only large weeds (think one inch diameter minimum main stems) can easily be pulled out with this tool. If the ends were designed more like tweezers, with no gap, the tool would be very efficient.

The ratings indicate it's an outstanding, easy-to-use, and effective tool. I really wanted this to work as advertised. I wanted to support this family-run business and avoid the use of harmful chemicals. But I tried it on an array of about 15 weeds. It removed only the first 2" or so of dandelion root (which actually strengthens the remaining root). This tool appears to effectively remove some other types of weeds but I need it mostly for dandelions. Again, I'm apologetic about this return and wished this tool had worked better for me.
