It does exactly what you need: it gives you an accurate temperature, it does it very fast, and it does it non-invasively. I highly recommend this for anybody with kids. You simply power it on, touch the end to your forehead and press the temperature button for an instant result. Since I did receive this through the mail, I will tell you that if you are in a cold climate like where I am at, you will need to allow the unit to warm up before using it as I tried to use it right away and received an error message.

What I like best about it is that it displays three different colors. Red, high fever, yellow fever and green, normal temperature.
