I like these, they look nice, and are reasonably priced. I bought two of these with the gold finish for a family room. One arrived with minor damage to the finish in two small areas, but it isn't easy to notice. Assembly is to attach 5 threaded pieces together by lining them up and rotating them. Easy to assemble, I didn't have issues with the wire getting tangled and twisted. There is a lot of rotating of pieces together, so I can see how the cord would get twisted inside the lamp if the cord below the lamp wasn't free to move. I did have to undo one piece because I had cross-threaded the pieces, but that was simple to just undo and redo. The head of both my lamps stays in place, I didn't have the issue where the lamp head won't stay up. I have no complaints.

I was checking out this lamp for months and finally pulled the trigger and bought a pair. I think it's a great lamp for the price. You need a little patience to put it together because of the way the cord threads through the stem and the base, but this is true for all floor lamps I've purchased.
