MESSY to clean--I take it outside. Heavy. Had to replace battery as it was unplugged for months. After digging into the Manual discovered it needs to be plugged in ALL the time or have to take battery out each time. Bought a second one in 2018 for vacation home where power is turned off for months at a time before I knew this. Used it just briefly and when we returned--same battery problem. Wouldn't recommend buying one--easier to use a quality canister vacuum with a disposable, closed bag for debris. I'd recommend to manufacturer to alert customers to the 24/7 plug in requirement in BIG PRINT ON THE RETAIL BOX. Excellent phone service to order replacement battery though.

bought this to help keep up with the dog, have an area rug with a black stripe on it, if it goes on the carpet it stops and thinks it is near a clif there should be a way to stop that if you live on a single level home. its useless unless you are home to constantly monitor it!

This thing is supposed to "sense cliffs," however there is a small space (1.5 inches) where my tile and sliding glass door meet that the robot considers an edge and somehow always gets stuck on. I am not exaggerating- each time I set the robot to clean my bedroom, I have to stop what I am doing and move it from this "cliff." The robot also attempts to eat cords. It often gets my phone charger wound up on the brushes and I have to pull it out. The quality of the cleanup itself is "so so," at times it just completely misses areas (but yet can still find the "cliff") and I have to physically take it to the location of the dirt and put it on "spot clean," which still doesn't always do the trick. Finally, the MOST annoying thing about it is the noise. It's extremely loud. It is difficult to watch TV or focus on anything if the robot is cleaning. You still have to sweep corners and small spaces, so I would probably not purchase this again if I could do it over. Disclaimer- my house is a small 2 bed, 1 bath, which is all tile. I have 2 dogs which track a lot of sand into my home (they do not shed much, so I can't make any claims about pet hair). The average cleaning cycle is well over an hour, so I try to use the robot when I am at work. I have had this product for 3 months.

It seems to spend a ridiculous amount of time in the same spots. It doesn't hit every spot on the floor. It takes a long time to return to home when I try to send it there. My wife likes it for convenience. I'm annoyed with it because I could get the same job done in 15 min that takes this vacuum an hour.

I was so excited about this product, and did not want all the bells & whistles of the newer models- just basic cleaning while I was away at work. The first time I ran this Roomba, it worked perfectly! It cleaned the entire area- kitchen, dining, living room and office. However, after that- things went downhill. I scheduled it to run while I was gone, and it only ran on 1/4th of the floor plan. Then, when I spoke with customer service, they had me run it again under their iAssist program and it cleaned the same exact area (only 1/4th of the floor plan). The customer service representatives told me that the pattern of this model of robot is very very random- so much so that it may clean the same room over and over again, while never cleaning other rooms. I was told that other models do not seem to have this issue. My suggestion is that either save your money and do not purchase this product at all (maybe even go with a different brand), or save up & spend even more money and get a newer model in hopes that it may run better. All in all, it is frustrating that you can still spend $300+ on a Roomba for it to only clean one room over and over again.

I bought iRobot 690 last year and accessories this year. It worked generally fine except for excessive noise and multiple stoppage due to failure of sensing cliffs. I’ve decided to buy a new one to replace iRobot 690. I saw iRobot 675 on sale and bought it. However it doesn’t work as well. First, I’m disappointed it does not indicate on the package that it has no virtual wall included like 690. Next, I find that it produce as much as 690 when cleaning. Last, it seems to have a even weaker sensor system that yields a circular motion which makes it never get out of one room easily. I will return it and never recommend it to others.

I have two dogs that shed a lot so I like just to be able to turn the roomba on and let it do it's thing. I have to say the first six months it works great but then after that I kept having issues with parts breaking. The front wheel falling off to the point I have to rap tiny pieces of aluminum foil to keep it in. The little spinner brush on the side won't turn and if you can get it to turn then it just falls off as well. Also it's very loud compared to other brands. I just bought a different brand that cost less and seems to be doing a much better job.

I bought the Roomba to replace my other robot vaccuum that constantly broke due to hair getting in the wheel gears. While the Roomba has not had that issue and holds up great to my 4 dogs constant shedding, it presents other issues... not only is this thing insanely loud (for real, it drives me insane and makes me want to return it), but it also has this sensor that sticks up on the top and gets stuck under my cabinets ALL THE TIME. I've never been so frustrated. It's too tall, not sure how the manufacturer hasn't figured out that it needs to be more slim to fit under standard counters. It also doesn't have a very large bin, but I empty it every day out of habit so it hasn't presented a problem for me yet. I have an all-tile house so I cannot rate it on the sound or cleaning abilities that it has on rugs or carpets. My house is 1849 sq ft, single story, all tile... and this thing takes 2 hours to vaccuum the main part of the house. I dont have it go in bedrooms at all (we have 4 bedrooms, 1 laundry room and 2 bathrooms that it does not go into)... definitely annoying for it to be running that long for such a small area. Realistically, I've had it maybe 2 months (if that) and I am so frustrated by the loud noises and getting stuck under my cabinets that I am likely going to return it soon. I loved my other one but it just couldn't keep up with the dog hair. Sigh.
