Exactly what I was hoping a robot vacuum would do

My new rescue dog is a major shedder and I find hair everywhere so I decided to try a robot vacuum with a gift certificate I received for x-mas. I read review after review and for the price point I bought the Deik. It also had great reviews but it was horrible. Even the return process was bad but I won't get into all that. The Roomba is amazing. The install was instant. Adding it to my wi-fi and Alexa was so easy. I like the simple clean or dock mode. No special cleaning modes to choose just clean or sleep. The Deik got stuck everywhere, chair legs, throw rugs, corners, etc. etc. Roomba is like a 4-wheel drive compared to the Deik. You can see it as it lifts itself up to get over obstacles. It is so much faster and doesn't seem to go in circles like the Deik. Roomba on it's first day covered every room. Every 15 minutes I would find it and empty the container which was always packed full of hair and even dirt which I didn't think I had. It pushes obstacles like shoes and cords out of its way. The only thing it sucked up was a couple of socks and a dryer sheet but it stops and notifies you on your phone that it has a problem. I didn't go around and pick up cords, dog toys, etc. It seems to just roll over them or push them out of the way. It hugs corners and turns very well. The dogs could care less. It bumps into my big dog and he doesn't even move. My little dog who goes outside when I'm vacuuming could care less about the Roomba. Compared to the Deik it is also very quiet. Somewhere I saw it compared to a microwave and that's pretty accurate. I'm 100% happy with this purchase and totally recommend it if you have a pet hair problem.

Time saving!

This little machine is very powerful and saves me so much time. I have such a floor area and didn't want to spend all day sweeping. It really does the job.

Great vacuum. Wasn't sure it would work with my dogs

I was very skeptical at first because I have 2 large Golden Retrievers with a lot of hair. When the Romba first came out several years ago we purchased one, it did not work very well and I ended up returning it. This model is wonderful it gets up sand, dirt and hair that the dogs are always tracking in. I love this machine and highly recommend it to somone with long hair dogs. It runs everynight at 4 am. You just have to be careful to pick up plugs and small toys. It learns where it needs to go pretty quickly. Every once in a while it will get stuck, but it will let you it needs help on your phone app. . Great product I am pleasantly surprise!

Love my new maid!

This rumba is amazing. We have 4 pets inside our house and it was a daily struggle to keep up with all the dog hair. This has saved me a lot of time, and our floors looks great, no more left over dog hair. I would highly recommend this item to anyone with inside pets.

I'm impressed!

This is my first robot vacuum cleaner. I did major research and the iRobot roomba 675 won. The other brands just didn't come close. While researching, I looked for replacement parts, again the iRobot roomba 675 won. I have had my robot "Rosie" for 2 weeks now. My home is 3800sqft and Rosie does a great job. She doesn't get everywhere, however she gets 95 percent and that takes a big load off of me! I did have to get a set of virtual walls because my home is so big. The iRobot roomba 675 is a good buy in my book. Just remember, it is a machine and doesn't clean like you would.

That b*tch, Carole Baskin...

We have a blind dog and so far, from two cleanings, I am pretty sure if we attached a vaccuum to him and let him wander around the house, it would probably be a lot like watching the roomba work. Lots of seeming aimlessness and bumping into things. The roomba is also kind of loud. Not unpleasantly so but is louder than I imagined. And so far, during both cleanings the roomba has gotten caught up on the legs of our recliner which is apparently what it imagines hanging off a cliff to be like because that is the error message I get. Now. Let me tell you why you should ignore all that and buy this anyway. Now, I don't want to overstate this but basically, 'The Tiger King' on Netflix changed our life. Our 13 year old daughter just randomly now blames EVERYTHING on Carole Baskin. So, when we got the Roomba, she was DELIGHTED to know we could name it. Guess what she named it? Yep. Now, "...that b*tch, Carole Baskin" doesn't fit in the spaces allowed so we did have to settle for "Carole Baskin". This name was chosen because we have four cats and "Carole" just goes around cleaning up cat hair. This is important because when you setup your Roomba, you need to download an app so you can schedule, name and manage your Roomba. When your Roomba gets "caught up on a cliff" like recliner legs in our case, your app will alert you that your Roomba requires assistance. For example, my alerts look something like, "Carole Baskin is caught on a cliff. Please relocate Carole Baskin..." My daughter HOWLS over this. At this point, being in quarantine and in a home that takes that VERY seriously, if this thing did not work for crap, I would still give it a 5 star rating. The hilarity and entertainment is just worth the money at this point, honestly. However, that being said, "Carole" works AMAZINGLY well. As I said, four cats across approximately 1,500 sq. ft. of our first floor (of a 2 story home) 24-7 is a lot to keep up with and I routinely feel overwhelmed by the upkeep. Our floors are SO clean! I could not be more impressed at this point. Corners, edges, all of it... it's the best money I have spent in a long time which is saying something. Being in quarantine, I have made some interesting purchases so far including a woodburning kit. I don't have wood, guys.

Great for pet hair!!!!

I was a little hesitant to go this route but needed something for general pet hair clean-up as we have 3 dogs, 2 of which are 75+ lbs. Although they each have fine, thin hair - they tend to shed quite a bit. "Rosie" does everything we expected her to do! We have mostly tile and hardwood floors throughout and she cruises through rooms and over general rugs such as bathmats and area rugs with ease. She's "learning". Day 1 she had her work cut over for her. We found she got tangled up in our floor-length curtains, but to be fair, they do gather a bit on the floor. Not her fault. The first day she made it back to her docking station w/out issue; day 2+ we haven't been as successful as her battery died before she made the full return trip. I personally don't mind; I have to seek her out to empty the bin anyway. But each day she is scheduled to run, the bin is full when the cycle is complete. It's almost conerning how much is picked up by "Rosie" on a regular basis. You do need to apply some common sense and manage your expectations. She's not a housekeeper. If objects are left on the floor, such as shoes, toys, etc. she's going to clean around them. If cables or wires are hanging loose along the walls or across floors, there's a good chance she's going to get caught up in them. Overall, we're happy witht the purchase.

But it!!!

This product has absolutely outdone any idea of what I hoped it could actually do! I have three kids two dogs and a cat plus a husband and three nephews that are here every day in and out of the house. I cannot believe how much this has helped me. I have a bad back so I have to rely on the kids to clean the floor which, if you can imagine, they are not so happy to do. Now I only have to nag them every once in a while. Mostly for the bathrooms because it obviously doesn’t fit arounthe toilet. Is there a mini version?! My downstairs is all ceramic tile with five big area rugs. It has gotten caught under the TV stand a couple of times but that’s it most of all it just does it’s thing and keeps it very clean. I hope this is helpful.

Very impressed!

Disclaimer: I bought this model, 675, with my own money and these are my honest opinions. I've never owned one of these and literally bought it on a whim. I was initially looking at a cheaper Eufy brand vacuum because I trust its parent company (Anker), but once I saw that iRobot had Alexa enabled and app integrated robots I went for this one. A lot of my house consists of smart devices so it only made sense. The Alexa integration was very simple. Just download the app, log into your wifi, and the Roomba connects very easily. Then you just have to enable the iRobot Home skill in your Alexa app. I had trouble figuring out the appropriate commands but just google search "roomba alexa comands" to find them. Once you set up scheduled cleaning in the iRobot app you don't have to control it through Alexa very often unless you want to do multiple cleanings in a day. I placed the dock appropriately, following spacial instructions, and charged the robot for about an hour. The instructions say 3 hours initially but I checked the app and it was fully charged. The Roomba responds very quickly to the app and it started cleaning right when I tapped "Clean" on the app. It moves very randomly and can seem to get stuck for a bit but it usually finds its way. I have an area rug with dark brown/black sections that I wasn't worried about but it will not pass over them because it assumes they're "cliffs." I'm grateful for the "cliff protection" feature and can live with this hiccup, just beware if you have black rugs. I have others that are solid chocolate brown and it passes over those just fine. I was frustrated that it wouldn't return to base the first couple times, but that's because I moved it manually because it couldn't find its way out from under my dining table and I was inpatient. IF YOU MOVE IT DURING CLEANING IT CAN'T FIND THE BASE. It will only find its way back to the dock it it starts there and is left uninterrupted. Occasionally it will actually get stuck and it will turn off and chime some tones to get your attention. You also get a notification on your phone to go help it. The only times it's gotten really stuck was on the edge of a really high pile shag rug (which is warned against in the instructions) and when it wedged under a headboard that was just the perfect height to pin it to the ground. Some have said it sucks up cords but I keep my cords/electronics VERY tidy so its not an issue for me. Emptying the bin is very easy, and it filled up really quickly the first few runs, which is expected. Its kind of gross how much it captures in my house because I keep it very clean as it is. It was able to pick up standard clay cat litter fairly well. Toward the end of its cleaning cycle when the bin and filter were more obstructed it didn't always capture the litter though, which is what you'd expect. It did bump into my cats' food and water bowls and push them around a bit. It worries me a little that water may spill if I'm not there to monitor it. I've ordered a "iRobot Dual Mode Virtual Wall Barrier (Renewed)" that i'll put in "Lighthouse" mode to fix that (the renewed model is half the price of a new one so I'm giving it a shot. it has a 90 day amazon guarantee). Overall I love this thing and it's only been 2 days. It's very convenient to be able to schedule cleaning when your away at work, or if you are expecting company and have other things to prepare. I think my Roomba will continue to serve me well. If any glaring issues come up I'll update this review as needed. UPDATE 9/19/19 I still love the thing. I ordered some white felt tape and put that over the black borders of my trouble rug under my couches so it seamlessly travels over those areas. I also ordered 8 2" risers for my couch and loveseat because they were just barely too low for the roomba. The iRobot virtual walls (Renewed) are a life saver. I have 3 of them now, one to protect the cat food bowls, one to block off the dining room (it gets caught in the chair legs forever and would rather it spend time in other areas), and one to block off a room with a high pile shag rug. I've officially "roomba-proofed" my house and I have it clean everyday while I'm at work and I havent gotten a "Roomba is stuck" notification since. I love this thing and highly recommend it as long as you have REALISTIC EXPECTATIONS and READ THE INSTRUCTIONS.

♡ it

It does exactly what it says it is going to do. Was super easy to program and just let it go. It re docks itself, cleans my floors (about 900 square feet with 2 carpeted areas, linoleum, and hardwood), and while it is a little noisy it isn't enough to wake me up (I programmed it to clean at midnight).
