did not work, but replacement worked very well, thanks.

I have received it yesterday & purchased Brenzomatic butane gas today. I filled the gas as picture D on the box. The gas seemed got inside (the handle of the torch felt cold), then I followed the picture B on the box, the torch did not light up. I have tried many times, it did not light up. The ignition did not work. It's a bad unit & waste a bottle of butane gas.Update the above review: Inpher, thanks for the replacement of torch that I received yesterday. I filled butane gas into the torch, waited one or two min., then pushed ignition button, the torch lighted up right away. Every thing went so easy & smoothly. GOOD SERVICE & GOOD QUALITY TORCH, So I changed it to 5 stars.

Always looking for a good deal

Love this little torch!

I bought this for popping bubbles in epoxy and it works great!! Easy to fill and it comes with a mini screwdriver to take the base off if the can of butane doesn't fit - something other reviews seem to not realize. You can either press the button for quick bursts of flame or hold it in to keep the flame going. You can lock it so it isn't accidently lit but you can also lock it so the flame stays without having to hold the button down. It's a good size and weight for people with hand strength issues. It doesnt hold a lot of butane but it is more than enough for most projects. The only real downside is a lack of detailed instructions and odd/incorrect wording on the box itself. Neither are really an issue in my opinion.

Small Torches

Bought two one for my Son In Law and one for my Husband. They use them all the time, to light the wood stoves, to light candle and the Grill. They love them.

It works as advertised

Not only does this product work s advertised but it is also very well made implying that it will last for several grilling seasons. So, if you're looking for a Chef's Torch this will fit your bill with excellent results at a very good price point. I thought I would have issues finding Butane however a quick trip to the nearest eCigarette store solve my issue and I actually have a choice as to what brand and size of butane to purchase. It's a good product that I would recommend great for crisping meats after Sous Vide or smoked bacon around a meatloaf. Enjoy and Bon Appetit.

Priced well, working great. Like the locking feature.

I had tried another torch, but didn't feel like it was safe since it would stay on until you flipped a switch on the side. With this torch, the default is that when you depress the button it will stay lit and when you let go of the button it will turn off immediately. Then, if you are using it in a scenario where you want to leave it burning, you can turn the dial on the back to lock it in place. I could see why that might desired for some uses, but I like that it will turn off by default when the button is released.

*UPDATED REVIEW * Stopped working after 3 months!

UPDATE! I received a replacement lighter from Tintec. After six months, it is still lighting up just as well as the day I got it. I've refilled it several times and have not had a single problem. I'm very pleased with this handy little tool. So, I've revised my rating accordingly. Thank you, Tintec, for being sensitive to and paying attention to your customers.////// I honestly thought this would last much longer. I've only used this a handful of times since I bought it this past November. Today, I went to use it and "click" - nothing. I thought it might be empty. Turns out it was actually full and I got butane all over me trying to fill the stupid thing. I squeeze the trigger and all it does is spew gas. Kind of like an old boyfriend I once had. This brand had some good reviews and I had high hopes. It has a good heft, fits well in my hand, and has a wide range of flame sizes. To say that I'm disappointed is an understatement. Like that old gassy, useless boyfriend, this torch is getting kicked to the curb. Thanks for the waste of $13, Tintec!

Light my fire

I recently purchased a pellet grill and I love many facets of cooking on it. I did baby back ribs last week and they came out great. I've done chicken, chicken wings, pork chops and big batch of wings. There's just one problem: There isn't enough smoke to my taste. The pellet grills generally only put out a lot of smoke in the 200-240 degree range - above that and the smoke diminishes. My ribs, cooked at 220, came out fine. The chicken and chops? Not so much.SO I purchased a small smoker tube. The idea is that you put pellets into it, start it with a torch and place it on the grill to add smoke to your cook. I didn't have a mini-flame thrower, so I purchased this. It doesn't come with butane, so I had to buy that locally at Home Depot. But I filled up the torch, turned the small dial on the back end and fired this up. Yikes! You could really cause some trouble with this baby! It starts instantly and has a slider to adjust the flame. I didn't need to make that adjustment - it works fine as it came. I used it last night to start my charcoal chimney I use on my Big Green Egg and it started the small Weber cube starters almost instantly. This torch appears to be well made and should last me for several barbecue seasons, which for me starts every April and ends the following March.

Good value, easy to fill, works as expected

I have never used a torch or butane before, so this was a new experience. The BS-400 has a good grip and easy to use instructions on the box and stickers on the torch for referral. Since my memory is not that great this detail is helpful. The base is nice for setting down if the tip is hot.The torch was easy to fill once I watched a u-tube video from another company selling these torches. I did not see a link or instructions included in the product I received. Since there are differences in products I would have preferred to have a link given to me with the product. You purchase the butane separately. To fill you need a universal top on the butane nozzle. (It is plastic and about a half inch long) But if you do not have a universal fitting, they have included a small screwdriver to remove the base so you can use a different butane fitting, I did not have to do this, but if I happen to buy a different butane, I would be okay with this torch.I purchased for pouring on canvas and I feel it will work well, it ignited on the first try, after filling.Just a note I don’t know if this company has a torch with a gage on the side but it would be nice to see fuel levels as a window.I am happy with my purchase so far.I have done 2 canvases and still have butane with first fill. It works well for pouring on canvas, as expected.
