When I turn the torch on and using it, the flame just stops every couple seconds. It is pretty inconvenient and uncomfortable to use because of this.

Nice unit. My only issue, which might be me, is being able to refill it. I've tried the butane I have here and gas goes all over, but in the unit. I tried another brand with adjustable heads and same problem. SO, I can't refill it. For me, that's a problem. Maybe it's my stupidity? However, after 5 tries with 5 different heads and it won't refill, it will be useless when it runs out. Haven't had it long enough to evaluate durability.

I've had this for about a year and use it quite often. I've had to take it apart a few times to be able to get it to work correctly. The "spark" to light the flame igniter had broken on the inside. (cheap pop metal) I used a zip tie to fix this. But, now it will not light on it's own at all. I can see the spark and I've tried aligning it just right but it's a no go. I will have to buy another one. Sad really because this one had such good reviews.

update: I emailed the seller and explained the issue and they were quick to respond and help. They sent out a new replacement that's covered under the one year warranty. Just waiting for the replacement to come in. No Hassel and had a response within a few hours of emailing them.It worked great up until today. It won't click to ignite anymore. I also was not able to use any setting lower then the third. It wouldn't ignite a flame no matter how many times I clicked at it. Going to have to get another one and trash this. Sort of disappointed. Hoped it would last at least a year but I bought this in May.

I loved it until it broke 7 months after I got. I was using the other day. Placed in down on the counter. When I picked it up the igniter broke. The push button wouldn’t push all the way down and it wasn’t clicking. I emailed the company and so far it seems like they may have really good customer service.. update pendingUpdate: I emailed them about 6 times and never heard a response. BUT just now a package with a new torch arrived. So I increased my rating. Let’s see how # 2 goes. But they did honor the warranty so that’s a plus.

This is almost an outstanding product, and performs as expected, easy to use and reliable. However not all butane canisters will fit into the bottom port due to the circular stand, and they provide a screw driver to remove two of the tiniest screws to remove the bottom and allow all canisters to access the refill port. For example the three grocery stores and CVS i shop at only sell the larger butane canisters that only fit with removal of the base. This is one of the dumbest solutions I can think of.1. easy to lose the screwdriver2 easy to lose the screws3 Difficult to match the holes in the base with the screw holes4. Why didn't they just make the base so it either snaps on or screws on? That is the simple logical ease of use solution rather than what they dreamed up.This is so stupid and annoying that I changed it from a five star to a three star.

I expected more but for the price i set my goals too high. Yes, it is quality made and easy to use but for something that is supposed to be 1100-2200 degrees, it took forever to toast one marshmallow on a Hersey bar and graham cracker. i was making a Smores desert indoors. Had to refill the torch every 30 seconds. comes with a warning not to let it cool after 5 minutes continuous use. useless warning. you wont get 5 minutes out of it. emptied the whole canister of butane i had to purchase separately. the silicon brush that comes with it is nice but there are no instructions as to what to do with the screwdriver they include. it does have an easy to use flame adjustment on the side. it is made well but just does not live up to what it claims. Barely melted the top of Hersey bar. if you really want one of thee that may live up to the claim , you may want to buy a more expensive one. I probably wont use it again as it wont even brown a marshmallow. Definitely wont solder as box claims

This is a very good, very convenient, easy to use cigar lighter. It stays cool and safe to handle and also quite windproof; I have yet to have it extinguish in a strong wind outside. It holds a surprising amount of butane for such a small size making it convenient to use for a long time before you need to refill it, which is a good thing because it does not have a fuel-level window or indicator (no stars deducted at this price). The small, precise flame makes it easy to point it at where you want to light.Note that I have not use this for cooking. In my own personal opinion, a broader flame might be better suited for this as this lighter's small flame point could make it hard to keep food from burning while trying to brown a large area; I use another flamethrower for that. However, I do use the the include d small silicone brush in the kitchen; it is a very nice inclusion.Update (22 Aug 2019: minus two stars): I am having a problem with the on/off knob sticking in the 'on' position. Several times, this has left a flame on once I stopped using it and burned me. I would like to get a replacement but, although only seven months old, it is out of the Amazon return period.

The media could not be loaded. Culinary Blow Torch, Tintec Chef Cooking Torch Lighter, Butane Refillable, Flame Adjustable (MAX 2500°F) with Safety Lock for Cooking BLACK:(I personally WOULD NOT recommend this for ARTHRITICS)Does what it’s supposed to do but just don’t like the overall feel of these things and I have yet to find one that I do really. I prefer to have a nice soft somewhat semi-squishy feel to the material as a cover perhaps or something. Just too hard a plastic feeling. Also definitely would not recommend this for arthritics as far as being able to keep your flame going unless you keep a continual hold on it. I have also come to find out at my own expense that if it gets dropped more than a couple of times on a tile floor or any similar surface, it will eventually come unhinged where the flame comes out and the mechanism that sparks it or keeps it lit or possibly both, I’m not sure what you call it, And if you’re lucky you can easily finagle it back to working again, but if you are unlucky then I guess you will need to ditch it or just continue to play with it until maybe you get it to work, which is what happened to me, but of course only after I ordered another one LOL.I will say I cannot give you much as far as the actual flame itself, as far as what a chef or culinary artist or the average Joe and Jill or Clarence and Jemima or Roberto and Francesca (or anyone) would want for their specific needs, because I don’t actually use mine for that purpose; HOWEVER, I can say, from using it for the purpose I specifically use it for, that I like the flame, it’s not wild and crazy and dancing all over, it’s like a steady smooth stream, not too thick not too thin. On a high setting it’s decent, it reaches, but you can smell the fuel sometimes, or at least I did. When you put it on the furthest low setting, you don’t get anything from it, So as you slide the wheel mechanism to lengthen/shorten your flame, it does have a nice set of smooth range options 🥳🤪 I will say, though, that the base is very well thought out, as far as it being sturdy standing upright, and wouldn’t topple over easily. Easy to refill and the design of the rounded base I just spoke about also acts as a splash guard when refilling with your fuel.Though I don’t really care too much for the feel of the grip as it is designed with ridges, if that’s what you’d call them. I would rather it be a smooth and, again, a soft kind of gel cushion feel coating as a cover. As far as if it is lightweight or not, naturally, when it is filled with fuel it will be slightly heavier than when it is empty. So when filled, for the average person, it’s no big deal, as far as weight; on the other hand, no pun intended LOL, I wouldn’t mind it being a bit lighter still. For the price, though, and if it’s just a once in a while use tool, then I’d say go for it, but just take care of it; and if you have tile or hard-surface floors, try not to drop it!
