SYNOPSIS You will not feel any airflow from these further than six inches from your face. As they are designed to be worn "over the nape," this means that (for most users) the fans on the "wings" will be too far from your face to cool you down at all. The sound of the fans is loud enough to be distracting to you, but probably not to a passerby. I would not wear them while talking to someone, though. I grant that the breeze they generate is fairly strong if you can position them close to your face -- I'm thinking of rigging them to wear as a sort of "halo" when I go on summer walks in the humid South.
