Good kit, not so good app

The kit itself is fine. My kid thought it came with a pad according to outside of the box. I installed the app on my ipad. The app is a bit disappointing. 3 issues I noticed:1. Crashed from time to time2. Code block disappeared due to some accident touch on some spot I should not touch.3. Sometimes there’s no prompt on how to proceed when we thought we were done with the code. Have to restart again.

Disappointed Kids

I bought this for my 8 year old daughter. The product was easy for the kids to assemble but you can't actually use it without a bluetooth device. We discovered this too late and I had some pretty disappointed kids. They love computer coding and this is an easy way to get them into it if you have what you need to make it work. Make sure that you have that before buying. We haven't been able to use it because we can't find what we need to connect it to our desktop. It does not work with the Windows 10 program on my laptop or with any mobile device. I will have to edit my review if we are ever able to get it to work.

Bluetooth connection often lost

My kids just watched Frozen 2 and they like anything related to the movie. They are very excited to open the box, and all material including the instruction are good quality. It just took my 9-year-old a few minutes to assemble the kit. So far so good. But then after installing the app in iPad, there are some issues: sometimes Bluetooth connection to the kit was lost, or the App will just freeze, the drag and drop into programming panel is not easy. I had to kill the App on the iPad and relaunch it several times before we made magical snowflake work on iPad.I would not recommend it as a tool to teach programming. But it makes a great gift to small girls.

Too advanced for age 6

Says it is for ages 6 and up but my daughter is 6 and I had to do all the coding because she didn’t understand it. She can’t read yet and I couldn’t find an option to have the instructions read to you on the iPad, so that was a bummer. They need to add that feature for kids who have a hard time reading. She loved confirming the elements once i was done coding it though! Still playing around with it but I’m hoping there is a way for her to control the elements without coding it.

Packageing

The item appears OK - however no outer packaging, address labels etc were stuck all over the item box, as you can see the labels will not come off without leaving the box all sticky.
