The problem is with the design of the refrigerator. For the elderly, getting on the floor to change the filter may be their last move. You've got to wonder how many times EMS has been called to rescue a "filter changer" [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This product works as described to clean the water and make it taste better. It will not take out 100% of everything bad in water but it is better than nothing. I change mine every 6 months and never have a problem. I encountered some delivery and tracking issues with the item, but that is UPS's fault, not the fault of the filter manufacturer.

I came to this site when I needed to replace the original filter on my Jennair fridge and after reading so many negative reviews having issues with the unit fitting, I was very skeptical. However I went ahead and ordered one online (Amazon). I first compared it to the original and saw no noticeable difference so there was NO problem installing it. Having also just returned from a trip to Europe where water quality tends to be much better, I was looking for a filter that did a great job of removing many contaminates we accept in the US but are not necessarily good for our long term health which this product does well. Perhaps there were some QC issues in the past but from my prospective the product I purchased this week fits right and filters the water well above acceptable drinking levels
