Would be nice if it didn’t set off my fire alarm every 3 minutes. Wanted to try this because it advertised as “smokeless” but it still sets it off. Probably not the appliances fault thought. Also, cleaning it is annoying. Cooking is super easy on it though. So it should be worth it.

Still sets off my smoke alarm for some reason in my apartment

Very easy to make small batches, heats up quick and cleans very easily. I love the grill feature, food really looks and tastes grilled however, it does smoke quite a bit. I put it on my cooktop and turn on the range vent and it helps with the smoke. No greasy mess all over which is nice. I’m still learning cooking times and features but I like the convenience of having this for quick jobs, probably a waste for bigger families though. I have everything from ninja/shark and they don’t make a bad product AND they have great customer service!

Pros: well made. Versatile. Easy to clean. Cons: if you follow the grill cooking times, you food is burnt to a crisp so you have to watch food like a hawk while it is grilling. I am learning to adjust temps and cooking times so my food food is done but not burnt. Shouldn’t have to do that if grill works as advertised. Even read the same complaints about the times recommended in the ninja foodi grill cookbook.

Works as promised, no smoke, etc. However, it is extremely noisy - that removable grid that serves as anti-smoke protection vibrates a lot. Also, requires certain learning curve - times in the guide err to the well done side, and those grill marks do not appear unless you want to eat shoe soles. So, if you only want those marks (e.g. finishing dois vide), it may be a bit disappointing. Having said that, it is as wonderful non-smoke grill.

The ads make it look simple but I found that there is a bit more to it than that. I bought the recommended low smoke oils, basted the meat and fired up the unit, and promptly set the smoke alarm off. Apparently they are not as smokeless as the ads lead you to believe. I've also dried apples and it worked great. I'll have to to figure out how to get around the smoke alarm and then we are in business. Unit works great, no problems there. But it takes some getting use to.

Too heavy! Not easy to operate. Food comes out dry. Too complicated for me. I love Ninja products usually but not this one.

I was excited to get my Foodie and used it for the first time today, grilling Brussels sprouts. Easy enough. However, they were burned crispy on the outside and I followed the directions, for a change, too. The bad part is that the sprouts tasted just like the new Foodie smells; that new appliance / acetone-like smell, not unlike a new car smell. I am going to cook some frozen chicken breasts next and see how that goes. I really would like to sell my Foodie, used once. Since my husband recently died, I do not feel like fooling with it.

I’ve used the grill 4 times and decided to return it. The food came out decent. But the smoke and the smell is overpowering. It smells like greasy metal burning. It would take 3 days and 1/2 a bottle of Zero Odor to get rid of the smell. I had my kitchen vent on but it did not seem to help. I am returning it. It is heavy. It is easy to use. Clean up is ok.

I like that it cooks the food fast. T-bones and roasted veggies came out great. I find that I had to turn on the vent fan in kitchen because it smoked a lot, even when cooling off. I have a parrot and you cannot expose them to smoke. I may return it because of that.
