I bought this product because I thought won't smell like regular oven huge mistake, I just used first time yesterday and grill chicken I felt I was on a fried food restaurant with no ventilation strong smell whole house stinks, so I cleaned as it says wash everything as instructions, today I made again grill chicken whole house smells strong again, light up lots candles, lysol on an on you named, the smell of food still on air. I'm so disappointed as I was goggling "Air Fryer Shouldn't smell Grease" go figure.

This grill cooked food just fine but I returned it because it was not actually smokeless. I followed directions exactly but it smoked every time I used it and I got tired of having to shut off our smoke alarm. Also, the mesh cover covering the heating element in the lid never would come clean in the dishwasher. Instructions said to put it in boiling water to clean thoroughly but it didn't remove the baked-on grease splatters. I replaced it with a $129.00 contact smokeless grill from Amazon that really is smokeless and is easier to clean.

I gave this two stars since it cooks fine, but the toxic fumes it emits every time we turn it on is not worth it. It fills the whole house with a burning plastic smell that has caused us migraines and dizziness. Not willing to sacrifice our health for convenience at this point.

I really wanted to love this! It with a little bit larger than what I expected but cleared off the counter space for it. I made chicken leg quarters and it was quite possibly the best chicken I've ever eaten! That being said, I live in a small apartment. I used the required oil and did everything right but it set off my smoke alarms twice. Not a lot of visible smoke but still annoying. It wasn't very quiet in fact it was very loud. Not sure if mine was defective because it's cooked fine but the motor is very loud and almost vibrates the counter. It's two days since I've had it and I can still smell a greasy rotisserie smell throughout my whole entire apartment even with my windows open and there's a light greasy film on my kitchen floor. I'm not sure if it would do better outside or for somebody with a larger living space. The smell and the absolute loudness is a deal-breaker for me so I'm unfortunately returning.

I grilled a steak and the smell afterward lingered in the house. A few days later I air fried some chicken and the smell was even worse. For a couple of days it smelled like something had died in the house. We cleaned all of the parts twice but there was still an odor of burnt Teflon and/or chicken. It's hard to describe the smell but cannot deal with it.

I loved this grill, air fryer, dehydrator, etc. I have used the air fryer 5 times, the bake function once, and today, the grill for the first time. I am sad to return this item and I do NOT want a replacement. It caused the power outlet on my kitchen to partially melt. I have used this machine 7 times and did not have issues, until I used the grill today. Somehow using the grill (maybe because it uses up more electricity?) caused the outlet to blacken and the plug when I pulled out of the outlet was hot to touch. If it was not for this, I LOVED this kitchen gadget. Loved it!! My husband is actually really sad that we’re returning it because he has loved all the food that I made using this. I am thinking I received a defective product, but I just can not get myself to accept a replacement in fear of getting another unit and potentially having that new unit cause an electrical fire. Also, I just want to note that I didn’t have smoke or off putting odor issues with this product that other reviewers mentioned.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for our family and we were all so excited to use this grill. In the beginning it worked amazingly! Steak, chicken - all grilled perfectly yet moist on the inside. The air fryer worked beautifully too. We used it 2-3 times a week. However about 5-6months later the lid no longer closes completely so the meat cooks drier and sometimes it won’t turn on to cook well because it doesn’t close all the way. I have to push down with both arms on the lid to make a semi seal in order to get it to work. We did not move the grill a lot and we maintained it well per the instructions. So if you’re not expecting it to last more than 6 mos, this is okay. But for the price point, we expected it to last much longer. Disappointed in Ninja.

I never like to write negative reviews and I hardly do but I felt I needed to write one for this product. First, it looks really nice and its really easy to use if you want to air fry, grill, and so on. IT IS INCREDIBLY EASY TO CLEAN which is huge PLUS! My problem is it overcooks REALLY fast and is difficult to really know how much time to put certain things on. In their guide it would say 20-25 minutes for chicken, but after 8 minutes it is already burnt. Maybe I just don't know how to use it and that is my fault. The product is not for me and I will be returning this. I do like Ninja items and I think they are the best, but not this product.

I used this product twice before experiencing problems with it smoking. I thought it might be some left over remnants of food so I cleaned the product as instructed in the manual. This product continued to smoke, however it was only smoking from one side. I am a NINJA supporter and big time fan this is my third purchase over all (2nd) via amazon. So when I tell you I was let down by this product, I was a bit distraught...lol. This was my largest purchase with the grills. I was so impressed with the 6.5 Pressure cooker, I gifted it to my each of my adult children saving this purchase for myself only to be let down. I have yet to figure out why it is smoking. It is only smoking from one side when it preheats and there is nothing in the grill. This has me at high alert because it leaves me wandering if there is something faulty or caught up that might be causing this to happen only on the one side. Seriously Perplexed, NINJA FOODI FAN

Gets way too hot. Preheat after every use, even if it’s immediately after? Took 3 attempts to perfect broccoli and even then, it was too hot and set off our smoke alarm to start another side dish. It’s deep enough for 2 pieces of chicken/other protein which is something I hate using the George for. I liked the fact you set it and go about your business but the constant preheating that kept everything so hot was too much and constantly looking up how to cook what regardless of the cheat sheet provided was annoying. Returned after a week. I hate that I’m using our George for grilling chicken, as it is smaller and I don’t like lugging out the larger one. I also don’t see how everyone says this replaces the toaster oven and microwave. Attempted toast. No go. Ellios for the kids. Hell no!! I love Ninja products and am sad to see this go back but to constantly google cook times and the overheating/preheating? It’s not worth it.
