I bought this thinking I was getting a great deal during Prime days. After receiving it I just happened to look under the warranty section of the manual and noticed it said refurbished. No where in the description of the product does it’s refurbished but it is.

It works fine; but the smell gives us a headache - not a fan.

I really wanted to like this combo appliance but ended up returning it. As with any new appliance, I thoroughly washed all the washable cooking parts then used the air fryer basket & oven settings to air fry some squash. The first batch had a definite off taste to it so I rewashed everything again. Second & third batches were not any better. This model features a nonstick coating on all the cooking surfaces & that might have been the problem altho I don't really know. Kudos to Amazon customer service: when I explained my concerns/disappointment, they allowed me to return the item & issued me a refund. I also noted I had to turn the temperature down as the squash was getting burnt rather than air fried/roasted to my liking so it seemed like it would take awhile to figure out what settings work. Appliance does take up a fair amount of counter space & some extra height/depth is needed so the lid can be opened all the way. It is heavier than your average large toaster oven.

What you see is not always what you get. It's a good product, for what it does. According to all the commercials and ads, you'd think it would even do the dishes. For some foods it great....meat is nearly always good, fries too, other things, not so much. You just have to make some of the recipes for yourself to find out if the work involved in prep is worth the food produced. Since I am older, I have, over the years, accumulated kitchen appliances that perform most of the things this does. If I knew then what I know now, I would not have purchased the product. I can do just as well with what I have.

I like good cooking quality and fast preparation. Don’t like product continues to smoke on high setting after several uses. I was throughly and dry after each use , and proper canola used. It sets off smoke detector.

I was very excited when I saw that Ninja had a grill that would cook a steak that tasted like something you got off your outdoor grill. Also, it was great to hear that the grill was almost smokeless. Of course I bought it. I found that the grill was very easy to use and very easy to keep clean. Deciding to grill a steak I first watched an online video showing how to grill a steak perfectly. it looked great. I followed the directions, heating the grill and setting the timer to 10 minutes, which was recommended. I prepped a 1 inch thick ribeye with salt and pepper and brushed it with canola oil when the grill was ready for the steak. The video said to press it down on the grill grate so that you would get nice grill marks. I did. closed the cover and grilled the one side for 5 minutes. Turning the meat over, I saw grill marks, but the meat seemed very watery. I thought that was kind of odd since it was cooking at 500 degrees. About 2 minutes into the second side. the grill smoked and set off my smoke alarm. I turned on my stove fan, but the beeping continued. Finally, the steak was done. Taking it off the grill, it was not burned or anything; it looked kind of gray and watery, but with grill marks. The taste was not anything close to the taste from my outdoor charcoal grill. After cooking, I cleaned the unit. It was very easy and nothing has burned on the grill grate. That was good. The next day, I tried it again and again, the unit set off my smoke alarm. And again, the steak had grill marks but was grayish and the taste was nothing special. It was edible, but not close to outdoor grilling as their advertising said would occur. The grill hads 4 types of cooking...grilling, air frying, roasting, and dehydrating. Hopefully, the non-grill functions work better Than the grill part. I'm going to try the grill on ribs. The video looked really yummy, but based on what has happened with steak, I'm not so sure they will turn out well either. One last thing...the next day after grilling I could small a somewhat nasty greasy smell. It hung in my kitchen until I sprayed with an air refresher. I was not crazy about that. I'm keeping the grill, but I don't believe that how they advertise it really reflects how it actually works.

It was ok. It was noisy when used. The grilling part was ok, but I prefer to grill on my BBQ. Living in florida I have the advantage of doing that all year. The baked potatoes were good but took a long time to cook. I’d rather microwave then throw on the BBQ. Just wish it was quieter for our kitchen.

The product arrived in an unmarked box with no manual or recipe book or anything similar. I had to download pdfs from random websites to figure out how it works.

Two years may sound like a long time for a kitchen gadget, but I barely used it for months at a time during those two years. I've been using it slightly more often lately, and it just fell apart. The screen won't stay on, the lid won't close, and it's basically an expensive paperweight now. :( For the price, I really felt like it should have lasted longer.

I'm very conflicted about this product. On the 1 hand, my burgers came out perfectly, but on the other hand, I'm not sure it was worth the hassle. I got this to replace a george foreman. I liked that it had multiple features, but I mainly got it for the grill function. Just preheating this thing (with NO oil) set off the fire alarm. That would be annoying even if I didn't have 12ft ceilings. It says it's virtually smokeless and that is just a flat out lie! Not only does it smoke, but the smoke sticks and lingers in the air. I made 2 burgers and my alarm went off 3x. I can only imagine how much it would smoke with oil when trying to air fry. Its definitely not something I could see my self using everyday, and at the price point, I can't justify keeping it. My burgers did come out very juicy and tender everytime I used it though.
