Tasty food

Update: after a month or so of having this I downgraded this to 3 stars only because of the vent. I am not sure if I got a defective ninja food but the vent keeps falling off. It has a very flimsy grip on the vent. It’s not a deal breaker but it can be very frustrating when you open up your ninja and notice that vent has falling out of place sit to a slight touch to it and you try to put in into place and it is barely staying in place. As you can see from the pic that portion is what hold it in place and the latch on it isn’t very much. Maybe a defective product I am not sure. Best purchase ever. Food is less than 20mins. I have noticed I have to season a little less- the food flavoring definitely comes out much more pronounced (little to much). The meat is juicy and the crispy wings are to die for. I have used my oven zero times since I purchased this 3 weeks ago. I do everything here in less time and the food comes out with much more flavor. The air fryer is awesome. It has a rack you can buy separately but I just use the grill accessory as a rack to roast my chicken. The grill is phenomenal. I haven’t used the dehydration yet.

Love this product but ......

I love this unit itself. But the big pot is already wearing the coating off of it. I have only used this 5 times and only washed it by hand with a soft rag and have never used anything abrasive on it. So I'm not sure why it is already wearing off like that. I thought about replacing the unit but I dont want to go through the trouble of boxing thisnone up just so the same thing can happen again. I would have given this 5 stars but because of the quality I gave it 3. I'm going to call the company today to see if they can at least send me a new pot.

Great product but sets off smoke alarm!

This product works great however after several uses , even after cleaning it, it would set my smoke alarm off every time. I use it regular too so the fact that I'm cleaning it and STILL having to deal with this was not a plus. I tried to contact customer service but not available. I love the way it cooks my steaks but cant return it cause it past the time limit. Had I known I would've purchased one from costco. Costco return policy is stellar!

Heavy Lid

Great idea and we love Ninja products, but the lid on this one is too heavy for people with arthritis. We had to return it.

Temperature probe was a waste and a bit smokey.

It's easy to use and cleaning is easy. I originally got this because I like to cook but my apartment does not have an exhaust fan in the kitchen, so cooking steaks tends to smoke up the place. I also got the unit with the temperature probe as I tend to over cook items to be safe, so the idea its timed and the temperature probe tells you exactly when it's done is a plus. I have used it a few times and the cooking was fine, the food came out great for the most part. My 2 grips would be for one it does get smokey after your second batch of anything. Meaning that if you cook steak, chicken or vegetables and immediately do a 2nd cooking without rinsing out the oil from your first go the place will get smokey. Granted it's not as bad as the stove top but after doing 3 large chicken breasts and doing 2 more after the 1st was done it got very smokey. 2nd the temperature probe basically broke and gave me an error on my second use (was the 2nd run on the above chicken breasts). I was careful to only hand wash this as it states putting in dish washer will damage it and toward the end of the cooking it just went ERR and hasn't worked since. Could of been just too hot as the instructions have the temp set at 500 degrees and using it back to back might of fried it, only a guess. Whatever the reason it was an unnecessary added expense as you do not need it, a simple digital temperature probe will do the same. Overall I liked the product, the times are a bit off as well its seems to cook sooner then they list by at least 2 minutes. I suggest this for the single or 2 person user to avoid smoking up the place.

Great when it works

This item is perfect for what I needed. I live in a studio without a real stove/oven. This does everything I used my oven for plus it grills. The main problem is that after it preheats and reads add food, I add the food and half the time it doesn't register and won't begin cooking. This wouldn't be a problem except for the unit shuts off 10 minutes later if it doesn't think you added the food. I don't know how to fix it and I don't have time to try to call customer service to find out what I should do. Otherwise it's great, makes perfect bacon and you don't have to watch it or flip it!

It smokes, sets off alarms, odors linger for days, and grilling on high will ruin your dinner!

Warning, this machine smokes like crazy on high heat (not as much on low) and sets off smoke alarms!!! It's also small inside. I barely fit five bone-in chicken thighs on the grill plate. It is very heavy and awkward to carry. It opens in a clumsy way and you have to balance the open cover while trying to turn the food over. It feels like it could easily topple backwards if you are not cautious. Also, I urge you not to automatically use this on high heat to cook steak. I followed the directions in the flimsy book provided and the steak was rare inside, cooked okay on the outside and TOUGH AS NAILS from the shock of intense heat. it was a thick sirloin center cut boneless. It is the same steak I cook on an outdoor grill or in my non stick griddle electric pan without any problems, ever. The grill cooks way too hot on high because the food is completely encapsulated, so I immediately switched to low ( and occasionally medium) and it makes a big difference. I did marinated steak tips on low. They were okay. Chicken grilled on low came out good. Skin was crisp, chicken was tender and juicy and SMOKE (yes, it DEFINITELY smokes!!!) was manageable with a small fan placed in front of the unit's exhaust area facing out the window to draw out the smoke and send it out the window. If you don't have a window and a fan, use this machine with caution because it will smoke and smell and leave a lingering odor in your entire house. I do not care how many reviews you read that tell you there is no smoke. IT'S NOT TRUE. There will be smoke. There will be lingering odors. There will be a period of trial and error. You will have some overcooked food, accompanied by disappointment and a feeling of buyer's remorse, especially if you use high heat. So lower the heat, check the food more frequently than you might think necessary and don't expect your food to taste like it just came off an outdoor grill, because it didn't. Given a do over, I would pass on this.

Hard to clean and top heavy

It's top heavy, bigger than it looks in the pictures, and difficult to clean. When you open the lid, the machine tips backward regardless of how much counter space you have behind it. If you try using it on a small table it would likely fall off and cause major problems. The size is also an issue. It's much bigger than it looks in the pictures so storage is a problem. And if you try to store the trays inside, the machine becomes heavy. While it does good in cooking food, I found it very difficult to clean. It doesn't matter if it is steaks, veggies, chicken and so forth, the grill grate always feels greasy no matter what I do. I don't have a dishwasher so have to try and clean it by hand. I tried putting in parchment paper. That helped only a little. And the splatter shield quickly gets messy. The brush they give you to clean just doesn't work on the splatter shield at all They recommend cleaning the splatter shield in boiling water. Yeah, right. I liked the food I cooked in the machine but having to spend so much effort on cleaning keeps me from using it. It's become an oversized heavy paperweight.

It seems to work good, but the lid was all dirty and banged up of the product and the instructions kept saying some thing about refurbished when I bought a brand new machine supposedly
