Be warned that the dial to change the temperature is on the bottom so it’s very easy to accidentally turn it up or down without meaning to.

I have always loved Hottools! I have purchased curling irons and curling wands from them in the past. Pretty much HotTools is my go to for styling products. This curling iron was gifted by Hottools and I loved using it. It was easy to use. I love that you can’t adjust the temperature to your liking and the digital display is a great upgrade. It heats up quickly and curls my hair nicely.

I purchased this because the Features listed in the Target Description said Automatic Shut-Off, however upon receipt the box and the instructions did not indicate auto-shut off so I called Hot Tools. They confirmed this curling iron is not equipped with auto shutoff. I will be returning it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I havevbeen using Hot Tools curling irons since my high school years 3 decades ago. This particular line is a line I had not hear of or used so I was excited to try. It heated up very fast. I like the twist bottom digital temperature gauge. The thumb lever was comfortable and easy to use. The clip provided enough tension to hold the hair in place but not too much that it pulled tightly on it. My hair seemed to glide effortlessly on this barrel. The curls came out perfect and were shiny and smooth! The barrel itself is a bit short compared to my other curling irons though so it might not be ideal for longer hair- my hair comes to just past my shoulders.

The iron heats up quite quickly which is nice not having to wait forever, to change the temperature you have to turn the knob but you want to do it one click at a time cuz the temperature will go up or down easily. Using it was easy and it left nice bouncy loose curls giving my hair more volume. I definitely found that no matter what hair type the higher the temp the better your results were.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first used this curling iron, honestly, I wasn't impressed. The button to hold/release the hair was hard to press and the curl didn't seem to shine like the product advertised. It wasn't exactly a "smooth" process, I felt like my hair was being pulled and it just didn't feel comfortable. However, after a few more uses, the mechanism to clip the curl/release the curl seems to have been "broken in" and its allows my hair to easily glide in and out without the pulling/tugging feeling I encountered on the first 2 uses.The ceramic barrel has given my hair some extra shine, but it's not an over the top selling point in my honest opinion. However, I LOVE the size of the barrel, it creates big curls and give them volume that will last thru the day, maybe needing a refresh if I'm going out that night. It doesn't seem to get gunned up with product, which is a huge selling point for me! Most tools get residue from styling products onto the barrel or onto the handle or crimp, but so far, I haven't noticed any build up. I would caution you to use heat protection gloves when using this because it will get HOT. If you touch any area besides the handle, it will hurt, you can buy gloves specifically for heat styling tools, I wish this curling iron would have come with a pair because I do think they're needed due to the high heat ability. There's a dial versus a switch or buttons, which is my preference & there's a display on the handle letting you know the temperature of the iron. The tool has made big, bouncy curls easy again and after a little bit of "priming", it glides really nicely. I'd say it's priced very well & compares to curling irons at a more expensive level. Again, if they included heat protection gloves, I'd say this would be an excellent choice, eith no need to buy anything else to heat style your hair.
