[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using the Braun Series 2 for two weeks now and I have noticed it works great on a two to three day old beard, but not on a week old beard. If you use this shaver every other day it cuts through the stubble with no problem and you only need to run it over your face a few times to get a nice close shave. If you let your beard grow past three days then the shaver starts to struggle at cutting the hair. There is pulling and you have to run the shaver over your face ten to twenty times and even then there are patches of long hair left behind. This is a great daily shaver, but if you are like me and like to go a week in between shaves then the razor blade and shaving cream is the better option. The Braun is easy to clean and does charge up fast which is very nice. The led battery indicator is a nice touch and takes the guess work out of when to know when to charge it. The Braun Series 3 is a very nice well made razor that is the perfect daily shaver. I highly recommend this shaver if you shave daily or a few times a week.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was so excited to receive my new Braun Series 3-3040 shaver in the mail! In the Box The box contains several pieces, including the shaver itself, a power cord, a cleaning brush, and a protective cap. The first time I picked up the shaver, I could tell that it was well-built. The handle has a rubberized portion, which results in a confident grip, whether you are shaving dry or wet. Operation This is my first foil electric shaver, so I'm more accustomed to using a rotary-type shaver. That being said, I was a little worried that the "straight" blades would not result in as close of a shave around my chin or other curvy areas. The first thing I noticed when turning the saver on was the noise. It sounded more like an electric buzzer than an electric shaver. It's even noisier when using the trimmer portion. Honestly, the noise was a little intimidating. The Actual Shave Despite the noise and my initial apprehension about whether the straight blades would be able to provide a close shave on the curvy parts of my face, I was pleasantly surprised after using the razor for the first time. The shaver provided as close of a shave as a manual razor, and the triple action free-float system had no problem gliding across the curvy parts of my face. Clean-up Clean-up was easy! Since the shaver is designed for both wet and dry use, I was able to simply rinse the entire unit in the sink. It was a little difficult to clean the hairs out of the shaver using the cleaning brush, but after about a minute of scrubbing, the shaver was good as new! Overall I was happy with this product. The only real concern I had was that it was a little noisy to use. This wasn't really a problem, but it could be a little irritating when shaving near the ears.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Disclaimer: I received this product for free from Braun to try out. This razor is extremely convenient and I enjoyed using it. I currently use a galette fusion razor, which I am thoroughly pleased with, but this was a nice addition to my shaving routine. I think that this product is well worth the price and is very good quality, however, I just wish that it made a little bit of a closer shave. I still felt like I had a lot of stubble after using this.

It's not the best thing I have ever used to shave my face but it works really well. I like that it gets a really close shave no matter if it's been one or three days since I have shaved. That's one great plus! It also it super quick. I have used it in a hurry and I haven't had any issues. I have tried it in the shower, as well, and prefer to use it in there rather than on my dry face. The only thing is I get razor bumps. This isn't Braun's fault! I just always tend to get them when I use an electric razor. So that's the only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Easy to clean; easy to use. I love the fact that I don't have to shave twice to get a close shave. It fits very good in the palm of your hand. The Braun Series 3-3040 gives a close shave without nicking the neck. Very comfortable. I am able to get many shaves on a single charge I recommend this razor to others, especially if you want a comfortable shave. It Really helps when this was free from Braun to try out.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After using it in the shower, which I love. I do like the shaver in comparison to the previous rotatry type electric that i had before. Yes it takes more passes than a razor, yes it does give more razor burn when dry shaving than a razor. But overall the series 3 shaver is a good use shaver. I don't shave every day so the 3 day stubble does work better than trying to use the shaver on a daily basis. It also gives my skin time to acclimate to the use of electric on a regular basis. I like the ergonomic feel and form of the shaver while using in the shower. The battery life is substantial. I have used it several times without recharging. It definitely will replace the old electric shaver i used to use. I don't think that it will replace the standard everyday hand shaver that i use, as the time for use is a bit longer. Unless i choose to use it during the shower, and with the cold weather setting in, that may occur more frequently. This shaver appears to be well build and i expect it will last many years. I am quite impressed with this middle of the price range shaver. Great value buy for those who need to get into an electric shaver.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, I really wanted to love this razor. The packaging is amazing, and straight out of the box the razor feels substantial and well-built. The little trimming accessory is a great touch and works really well. The razor itself however is good, but not great. It can take several passes for it to remove all of the stubble on your face if you have more than a day or two of growth. If you are an everyday shaver this razor will likely be a great fit for you, but if you are lazy or slack on shaving daily (as I often do) then you may have better success with a different product. I will say though of any razor I have ever used, this provides the closest shave and left my skin feeling soft for a long time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got this as a free trial to review the product. At first the box didn't look very appealing as a consumer. I didn't expect much from the cover of the box but needed to give it a shot anyway. The packaging inside the box was very simple: Styrofoam with the razor, cap, brush, ac adapter, and manual. I guess I expected something fancy since you're purchasing an electric razor. However when using it as a dry shave and shaving the same spot 2 to 3 times, the shave was pretty good. There are some stubble and razor bumps, but the shave is pretty decent. The bumps may be better when shaven wet I believe. However, the shave was not as smooth as compared to the Panasonic Arc series. I would definitely recommend those over these. These are quite loud and solid, but it still gives me a sense that it's cheap.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very wary when I accepted this campaign because I purchased the last version of this exact same shaver last year and had terrible results. It took 15 minutes to get a halfway decent shave that I then had to clean up with a regular razor. This version does everything right that the old version did wrong! I was floored when I used the shaver and with minimal pressure had a completely clean shave in under 5 minutes and didn't need to pull out my other razor! I've really got to hand it to Braun for doing everything right with this version and I would urge people who've written previous versions of this shaver off to try this new version. I did knock one star off because the first use left a greasy black residue on my face in places but it washed right off and hasn't been an issue since.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think the Braun Series 3-3040 is a pretty good razor. I have very coarse and thick hair on my face the kind that needs to be shaved every day or I begin to look like a caveman. I have a small lined beard with a goatee and love the trimmer on the side of the razor it makes great straight lines. The razor works both wet and dry which is a bonus and charges up so I can take it with me if I am in a hurry. I works well on giving me a nice shave although with my hair it does take a few passes at it.
